Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 125 lbs
Size Purchased: 4

These fit true to size for me (I have some other Marmot items, I got the same size here and it worked out). The fabric is a mid-weight, but heavy enough to look nice. They have a more relaxed fit, and fit well over boots. Because they are mostly cotton, I will be using them more casually or for a light hike, not for a serious hiking/camping trip. The one note I have is that the crotch/inseam is VERY low/short. They ride very low, think light-washed jeans from middle school in 2003. Not a reason for me to return them, but I would definitely need to mind my butt when bending over/squatting. If you're looking for a more traditional or conservative fit, these won't be for you.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I had such high hopes! Out of the package, these pants were exactly what I was looking for-thick material, nice color and they looked cool. I listened to the previous reviews and ordered a size up (normally a 4, I got a 6). They fit perfectly on my legs and hips, but the waist was absurdly too large! Like, several inches too large. Most pants have a large waist on me (I have a curvy butt and small waist) so I'm used to needing a belt, but these were wildly disproportional. And due to the thick fabric, I couldn't belt them smaller because the fabric bunched up and was uncomfortable. Something is off about the sizing here, based on my experience and the other reviews.
