Great for those summer nights when you sleep outside but a blanket just won't do to keep you warm. I was seriously blown away at how toasty this tiny thing got! Didn't need to wear any extra layers to bed when I hit the sack at night. Packs down very small if you are limited on space which is always a plus!

I don't know what voodoo magic this material is made of but whatever it is- it's AMAZING. I took this on a recent road trip to visit some friends and upon my arrival, it had started raining pretty badly. When I arrived at my destination though, my friends were having a dance party outside and they were all soaked! I threw this jacket on to join them and it was perfect. I stayed totally dry but the best part was that I could move around SO MUCH in this thing! It doesn't even make sense how this jacket works since it's a stretchy, softshell rain jacket but this was perfect for a night of busting a move in the middle of a rain storm :) My only "complaint" is that since this jacket has a helmet-compatible hood, the hood looks a little funky if you aren't wearing a helmet which is totally understandable though. If you hate the rigidity of traditional rain gear and need more stretch in your jacket for your rainy day activities- look no further than the Rab Kinetic Plus!

I expected this pad to be just like other traditional closed-cell foam pads and it totally was, BUT one thing I was not expecting was that I never slipped off my mat in the middle of the night! I toss and turn a ton when I sleep and always wake up far away from whatever pad I "tried" sleeping on but this guy made me stay put right where I was! My sleeping bag never slipped off which made for a restful night of sleep without bugging the people next to me in my tent.

The was great to take with me on a recent multi-day road trip. When it got chilly in the car, I could throw this on without having to bug the driver to turn the AC down. I also slept in it every night since it was so soft and comfortable against my skin! I love that the Liquid Oxygen has pockets and a drawcord waist for that perfect fit. A great, versatile piece for wearing during the day and through the night!

I always keep a down puffy blanket in the back of my car for any time I need to cozy up! Whether I'm going to the drive-in, sleeping in my car, having a picnic, or going car camping... this thing comes with me everywhere I drive to! I am a huge fan of down mostly because of how warm and cozy it is to snuggle up in- It makes it seem like you never left your bed! Very soft and easy to layer inside a sleeping bag if you are needing a bit more warmth. If you are debating on getting one or not, JUST DO IT. They are totally worth it, you will not regret it. P.s.- just be sure to keep it away from the fire! :)

Day Hikes Just Got Easier
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I originally got this pack a few years ago for a summer job, and it held up so well after putting it through the wringer every day for 3 months straight of ranch work! It has the best organization I've seen in a day pack, and not to mention the support this thing has to offer is unreal! It almost feels like a frame pack on your back because of the structure of it. The waistband was so comfortable to wear for long periods of time and very easy to adjust if I needed to put more layers on. One of the selling points for me was actually the rain cover that comes integrated with this pack because it stows away in its own pocket on the bottom. I've even taken this on mountaineering trips and the tool loops were the perfect addition to help keep my hands free! I really love the sunglasses pocket on the top as well for scratch-free stowing of one's phone or glasses to avoid any unwanted scratches by the end of the trip. I would highly recommend this pack to anyone who needs a supportive day pack with excellent features! with the right amount of volume and organization without going overboard.

Weekend Trips Made Easy!
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I don't know how I survived packing before I got the Transporter 40 because this guy makes it so easy. This bag is so comfortable to carry as a backpack or duffel bag. If Osprey knows how to do anything, they KNOW how to make a pack comfortable! The 40L is the perfect size for weekend trips. I like the lid of the bag and how it opens long ways to the side so the lid won't fall back down as you're trying to pack. The backpack straps stow away neatly in a pocket so you don't have to worry about forgetting them at home! I've taken this bag through inclement weather and my stuff was still dry when I went to take it out again. I really appreciated the inner compression straps to help keep my items secure as I've traveled bumpy, long distances with this bag!

I bought this for a 3-day rafting trip on the Salmon River and it was great at keeping all of my essentials and valuables dry during those big rapids! I was looking for a dry bag with a print on it so it wouldn't get mistaken with someone else's bag so Outdoor Research was the one who came through on the fun prints :) I always knew exactly where my dry bag was because it was so easy to spot, even if I changed boats. I was a little hesitant because it's so thin but held up incredibly well with what the Salmon had to offer. If I were kayaking or doing anything bigger than class 4 rapids, I would definitely opt with a heavier duty bag but this one was great for what I needed it to be!

I've had the Deviator for some time now and it is so brilliant for layering. It keeps your core warm without overheating your whole body. Also because of its streamlined design, it's really easy to layer with a shell or another mid-layer for added warmth or water protection. The grid fleece and core insulation are very soft against your skin so you won't be irritated if you are moving around a lot while wearing it. I mainly wear this while running in the fall or winter time because it is the perfect layering piece that moves with you on the go! Also- there are thumbholes!! (need I say more?)

This is my go-to jacket when I'm traveling because it packs down so small, it's super lightweight, and does such a great job and shedding that rain away. If you are unsure of what the weather will be and you are limited with room in your bag- this one is the jacket you need! I took a star away because I wish there were hand pockets, but other than that I genuinely love this jacket to calm my nerves about the weather changing when I least expect it.

I've worn these gloves for a few years now and they are my favorite liners in the winter. Great movement and feel with the fabric they use and they're pretty warm with how thin they are but also great for layering with a thicker pair. My favorite part was actually the clip to hook these together so your mind can be put at ease so you won't get stuck with one glove. Touchscreen compatibility was a nice touch too for snapping those pictures without freezing your fingers off!

I bought this shirt when I worked as a field guide in the Arizona desert and it was perfect! It's incredibly lightweight- you'll forget you're even wearing it. It's great at keeping the sun off of your skin (especially in the middle of the desert with no shade around) and it also helps keep your arms from getting torn up if you are hiking around in a really brushy area. Cat Claw stood no chance against me when I was wearing this shirt! The fabric definitely snagged, but it never tore! Throw the hood up if you need more protection against your neck. All in all, great construction, feel, and performance.

I used these on a winter camping trip in Idaho and I was so glad I had them. They are perfect for keeping your ankles dry from any snow (or melted puddles) you are going through. I love how easy they are to get on and off from the velcro closures and the strap that goes under your boot is great because you can easily adjust it perfect to where you need it to be if you are switching from cross country ski boots to different winter boots multiple times a day. They weren't totally waterproof but they did do a great job at keeping most of the snow and moisture out which is exactly what I needed them to do!

I am a huge fan of any and all ubertubes/multiclavas/buffs but this one is probably the prettiest one I've ever gotten! I love the watercolor look and the nod to nature that it displays with all of the flora and fauna on this pattern. I always take one or two of these on any trip I go on- they come in so handy! I typically use it as a headband during the day and then pull it down as a neck gaiter at night. I will have no hesitations sporting this one around on all of my adventures this summer, especially with its wicking and temperature- cooling technology!

I also use my OR Backcountry Organizer for a first aid kit and the #2 size was absolutely perfect to fit everything in there that I wanted. As a WFR, I never go anywhere without a first aid kit and this is the one that I keep in my car for any roadside emergencies. The Hot Sauce color is nice and vibrant so I can't miss it if it gets jumbled with other items in my trunk. These have the perfect amount of pockets and dividers in my opinion for all of the supplies I wanted to include- not too many, not too little. which is sometimes tricky when you are building a first aid kit from scratch.

Versatile Jacket!
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

This jacket is my go-to piece for the Spring and Fall. It's perfect for that "in-between" weather when the seasons are changing and the weather is very unpredictable. I also think it's brilliant that it's reversible because I can have the solid color on the outside for a little more classier look or I can have the flannel on the outside for a more casual look. The flannel is really soft against the skin and it's the perfect warmth for when those temps suddenly drop when you weren't expecting them to. OR even though of everything by having 2 pockets on EITHER side of the jacket as well. No hood, but I honestly think it looks better without one. Cute color combinations as well (like OR does so well!).

I actually purchased this to hold some kitchen necessities for my camp kitchen box. Holds my utensils, spices, matches, knife, and sporks- everything you need for a camp cookout or picnic! All I have to do is grab the organizer and I'm ready for any picnic in the outdoors :)

I love the sleek design of this little light. The colored light options were super fun and I love that you can charge it during the day in the sun for use at night. The stand makes it really easy to aim wherever you need it to if you're charging it or using it for light!

This thing is so easy to use! I love the sundial feature so you can precisely see how spot you are (or not). The kick stand is adjustable too which makes it really easy to set up. I used this to charge my phone at night on a recent camping trip and it was such a great addition to my gear because I knew that I didn't have to worry about finding a charge elsewhere.

I don't feel guilty packing this chair with me any where I go because it packs down so small and it's very light compared to similar backpacking chairs. The seat itself it pretty comfortable- I was worried it would be too tight on the hips but I felt nice and cozy every time I sat down! My only complaint was that the chair is at an awkward height- I wish it was like 6 in taller to avoid the strain on my knees when I would go to sit down. BUT when you're using minimalist backpacking equipment, I guess that's expected :) All in all, I loved this chair. If only it was taller, then it would be 5 stars.
