Laurel Nelson's Bio

I grew up all over the place, but moving to the Canadian Rockies for high school changed everything. I moved out to Utah ten years ago for school at the University of Utah and after graduating summer of 2011 I started working at Backcountry.com. Snowboarding and fly fishing are definitely my passions but I also enjoy paddling, biking, hiking, backpacking, and basically anything else active in the mountains.

This is my second pair of these and I love the waistband. It is thicker than most and super comfortable. I have switched over to merino undies for anything active as they are significantly more comfortable than the synthetic ones I have tried. The only negative about these are the seams for the leg openings. The seam is a little thicker than you would expect and if you had a bit bigger upper thigh it could be restricting.

I have had a few Arcade belts over the years and they are so much more comfortable than most belts. Ski pants have always been ill-fitting (too big at the waist to get the right hip size) and these belts have fixed that completely.

I got this with my pair of Iron Rangers and it has pretty much everything you need. The boot cream does darken the boot a bit, but it seems to wear back to almost the original color. The brushes have been the most useful for cleaning them up after they get super dusty.

I got this for our younger pup as he is still growing. I prefer the metal buckle found on some of their other collars, but this one has held up well. Like other reviewers said, I really like the separate leash attachment point. It makes it easier to make sure you are clipping to the loop and not the rings on their tags.

These are great nippers. Like other reviewers said, they are quite large. These are significantly larger than most other nippers out there, but they cut well and are easy to hold. They are a bit heavy so if you have them on a retractor they pull it a bit when stowed.

I purchased this mug after I would go through my 20oz mug too quickly while winter/fall fishing. It is larger in your hand than the 20oz, so I purchased the Rambler handle to make it a bit easier to hang onto. Awesome mug and I love the magslider addition as it keeps coffee warmer longer than the original Rambler top with the drinking opening.

I am a huge flannel fan and Woolrich is my favorite so far. It has stayed super soft after multiple washes (on cold and air dry with no heat in the dryer). I do agree with the other reviewers about sizing down. I am typically between a M and L and I went with the M on this flannel without it being tight at all.

This is a great leash for the price. The fact you can open the handle loop and attach it around a tree or chair is awesome. It makes it easy to keep your dog close while at a restaurant or working outside. The lower loop is great for when you need to keep your pup close.

I got this for our 4 month old puppy as he outgrew his puppy collar. I really like the fact that the clip is separate from the loop that holds his tags. It helps the tags stay on longer as you don't accidentally clip on to the tag ring. I measured his neck and it matched perfectly with the sizing reference provided by Ruffwear.

This thing is awesome. I have one for each of our dogs. Having 3 black dogs, it is easy to lose track of them at night while camping. These make them easy to spot so you aren't worried while hanging out around the campfire. I also use them on morning walks for added visibility. The metal clip makes this one a bit more durable than their PetLit light although the light turn-on mechanism is a bit more difficult as you press instead of turning on the PetLit.

I purchased this in Rust for my boyfriend as a nicer summer shirt. The length is good and the fit is slim but not tight. He typically wears a large in shirts and the large fits great. Perfect for summer business casual circumstances.
