Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I have funky feet, normal to narrow heel and very wide around the toes. This shoe felt a tiny bit loose in the heel walking but don't feel any heel slip on the bike. I wear a size 12 street shoe & 46 fit perfect. Love the boa ratchet in both directions as you can make incremental changes as you ride as your feet swell or contract. Click, boom, done!
The only nit to pic is they are very hard to keep clean. I got black and yano black shows dirt anyway, but.... Geez. Ride by any dirt and your shoes are dirty. Nature break? Oh yeah, dirty. I'll live.
Bottom line? Comfortable shoe. Light and stiff. Yes, I'd buy them again.

Some of us can't eat many of the commercial energy bars. This foil/paper product is great for wrapping rice cakes for bike rides / etc. The paper side helps keep the rice from sticking better than straight foil and the foil keeps things all together until chow time. It's a tad pricey but I haven't found a better alternative.

Everyone has their own ideas about gear. Some like gloves with thick pads, some like gloves with no pads and some don't wear gloves at all.... so. These gloves have very thick pads in all the proper places, fit nicely and don't look like a canary pooped on your hands... awesome sauce for my road bike. Get some.

I purchased these specifically to run Spartan Races, I was not disappointed. Other people were slipping and sliding on muddy hills and loose gravel... I couldn't get these to break traction during any of my races....ever. I finally managed to slip them a little bit on a training run on a very loose, dry and very steep downhill...once. The knobs on the sole are much deeper than other Salomon trail shoes I've seen. I don't get much snow around here but I suspect these would have great traction in the white stuff. I have the ClimaShield and a regular pair but since Spartan Races frequently run thru water, the CS is kind of useless for that purpose, tho they do drain fairly well. Plenty or room in the toe box and never a blister even during a Beast....
Great shoe if it fits you properly! Because my feet swell after a good run I get a half size larger.

I purchased these specifically for a Spartan Race and was not disappointed. I ran with them a few times on dry surfaces and they were OK but not great.. Took them to Spartan and was impressed. Excellent traction on all terrain but they really shine on wet surfaces. Since there were several water crossings, there was no way to keep the water out completely but they drained well enough and my feet were comfortable the entire race.. I normally wear a 11.5 but ordered 11.5 & 12 so I would be sure to have the correct size in time for the event. I sent the 11.5 back. The 11.5 fit ok but after a bit of running my feet would swell and they would have been too tight. 12 was loose at first and then became perfect. As with any shoe, sock thickness can help with slight fit adjustments. The lacing system does take a little getting used to to get the proper tightness. The lugs on the bottom did not seem to retain the mud as other shoes I have worn so you are always running on the shoe and not a slippery layer of goo caked to the bottom..
Excellent for my intended usage.
