I really, really love this hoody because of how lightweight it is yet how warm--super breathable and never feels wet or clammy even with high exertion Trail running up big hills). The scuba hood protects the face really well from the elements beneath a jacket hood as well as your chin from the zipper = win/win! My only concern is with the durability if it's the layer you're wearing underneath a running hydration pack--seems it may rough the fabric up pretty quickly. Without that type of friction against it = staying in flawless appearance/shape though I do wash it on cold in a garment bag and hang dry. :). I love patagonia--incredible wear value--I have one of these in the crew style and now one hoody. Side note--they're so beautifully made it easily goes with fancy jeans or skirt for out and about to dinner or church or etc. makes me feel like I'm getting "dressed up for the trail"...

Since women don't need lightweight waterproofs so we should just buy men's (just kidding, wait, no I'm not... :) ) just wondering how the length from waist to where the legs come together is. I tried on a men's outdoor research helium pant and found that length to be way too long = caused the pants to restrict my hip flexion when going up the stairs = definitely not a good fit for going up mountains. I tried rolling up the waist to adjust this, but that made the men's small pants too short. Any idea on this marmot essence pant? I have the women's jacket and love it. Primary use is high country CO mountains and crazy long mountain racing and pacing. :)

LOVE this skirt--so comfortable, warm, soft, easy to move in. Does require a slip if i wear tights as they do tend to cling, but we're in dry-air-country so static abounds. modest enough for church, fun enough to wear out and about. drape and shape is nice. Does tend to pick up my velcro dog's white hair... but such is life with a white haired blizzard shedding dog.

I like the weight of the material and the drape of the layers (tiers?)... I found I needed a short slip under to prevent clinging to my tights (even my slick ones) but we have dry air here = static electricity issues. Looks good with boots or flats. Modest to the top of the patella and easy to sit and move in.

I like the detail, the unique back, and the looser fit for a nice change vs the standard slim fitted tee. The billowy-ness seemed to almost warrant a full size down tho (I'd really just take 1/2 star off)... it fits nicely in the shoulders and arms, however, so I didn't want to lose that. And it's nice having a looser top to go over more fitted skirts/jeans.
The black is more like a dark charcoal grey (which is fine)... It makes me want one in white, again, just for the unique design and the thickness of the very soft fabric which would surely mean the white wouldn't be see-through.

I tried on the men's small (i'm a women, medium frame on wrist bones) and the elastic at the wrist was exceedingly tight... as in... 15 min until carpal tunnel symptoms tight... are the women's elastic band around the wrist similarly tight? The men's medium was better but then too huge in the fingers. thanks!

love the dress but would love it MUCH MORE if it had a shelf bra. the double layer is still very cool in 101 deg in the midwest... feels great out here in the NW as well... love how it flows and stretches... but there's NO SHELF BRA??? what?? so even with AA's, you can see everything like a night gown almost... so i have to wear a little bra with the matching back pattern (cuz i'm not into reg bra straps under a t-strap top)... anyway... this makes it less "breezy" feeling in the 101 deg. at any rate... love the feel of this dress and i wear it often.

i want to be in love, but im' just not... I sized up (to the medium) as i'm always right on the border between sizes... to allow for a bit more room through the tummy and hips (ultrarunner) but it made it baggy in the chest (again, ultrarunner--ha!). i purchased a small in the long kamala dress and it's form fitting... looks nice, but no room for not keeping the tummy "engaged"... I'm not sure if sizing down to the small on the sprite would have been the trick?? hmmm... oh well... it's very comfy, but just baggy in the chest... which is not a great look... but it is good for reminding me to have perfect posture. :)

went by the sizing numbers and bought the small in the grey and the chevron stripe... the grey clung in all the wrong ways, so back it went. the chevron stripe was perfect and felt like summer... it's "sleekness" requires keeping the abs firm while wearing, but I think going up a size would make the bra/too loose for my 35AA. I'm 5'5 and 125 in an ultrarunner/hill climber sort of body... and the small is good. looking fw to wearing it with a long sleeve zip hoodie in the fall, too.
