Familiarity: I've used it several times

These fit true to size for me based on shoe size, they slide on fairly easily (takes some getting used to if toe socks are new to you), and feel GREAT while wearing them. I've been wearing them for daily use first before going on a long hike, just to make sure they work at that level. Have not yet taken them hiking, but from my daily experience, I believe they will do fine.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 170 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

My jacket came with a defect (unraveled seam in sleeve), so I returned it. Backcountry made the entire process as easy and efficient as possible. As for the jacket, it seemed OK, but the defect made me suspicious of its quality, and nothing else about it impressed me that much. Granted, it's probably the lowest priced jacket on Backcountry, so take that into account. The sherpa lining is what appealed to me, and that did look and feel nice when I tried it on.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Have only used once for an indoor climbing session, and it worked flawlessly and was extremely comfortable. Also, I should note that I initially ordered the wrong size, and had zero problems getting it replaced with the correct size. Customer service was EXCELLENT, even though I was the one at fault. I have become a solid Backcountry.com customer due to their product choices and quality, fair prices, fast processing and shipping, and excellent personalized customer service.

Despite so many reviews that this shoe runs large, that was NOT true for me. They fit very true to size. I now know that there is a longstanding myth that climbing shoes have to be uncomfortable and even painful. That must be why so many reviewers are advising to size down. I call BS on that (well, thanks to more enlightened experts who have written on the subject). Yes, they fit tighter than "regular" shoes, but you do NOT need to hurt. Fortunately, BackCountry has an excellent return policy, and I was able to return the ill-fitting pair and order my NORMAL size. They fit GREAT and feel tight but COMFORTABLE. You would think LaSportiva knows what they're doing when it comes to sizing, and they DO. Love these shoes now that they actually fit correctly.
