Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
I've worn Burton since 1996. This jacket is well constructed as they always are. The simple design contrasts are sleek.
I haven't had a chance to ride wearing this jacket yet as the first east coast mountain just opened yesterday…but there are a couple cons that I foresee with the way this jacket was styled:
1. the cuffs and the bottom band of the jacket are like a cotton fabric…on a wet snowy day, early season or spring, these sections could get wet and frozen, crusty and cold (I just bought my first pair of rear-entry bindings so I won't be sitting down to strap in and the bottom cloth should safe from that most days)
2. The pockets zip vertically and are not very big…must be mindful to not let belongings fall out while unzipping during chairlift rides
I'm excited that the neck is separate from the hood…looking forward to zipping all the way up without having to put my hood over my helmet!
