Great Bag. Shoulder strap is bad.
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bag is great. It is the first bag I reliably take the the grocery store. The size is nice -- allows for a good amount of groceries. It is a little larger than a typical canvas grocery sack. Mostly it is taller.

The shoulder strap is ridiculous. The leather pad does not fit over the adjustment hardware and the swivels don't swivel. If you need to shorten the strap, you cannot use the leather pad. Since the bag is taller than typical, you kind of need to shorten the strap -- if I adjust the strap to use the pad, the bag hits behind my knees. So, my shoulder pad is useless. I will probably cut it off.

Regarding the swivel hardware... It is tight -- so tight it won't swivel. You can twist the strap 360 degrees and it still won't swivel. So when put the bag over your shoulder the strap gets all twisted up and you have to fix it by hand. Since you can force twist it with your hand, I am hopeful that it will work itself out.

Fit: Runs small

I like the style of this company and have bought a few items now. The fit is all over the place. This runs small -- tighter than the same size shirt I got from them and I have to put clothes under it. Style wise, I like it. I can wear it over a shirt, but not anything thicker (like a sweater). For the price on Back Country, it is worth a try. I don't think I will buy this company's stuff at true retail prices.
