Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: Runs large

I knew from reviews elsewhere that this particular Asolo ran large, so I ordered a 10 (I'm a genuine 10.5, but this is almost impossible to find so I usually order 11). Just got the opportunity to try these out in the mtns. and they worked great. Laces allow you to custom fit and the heel fits snugly (something I am rarely able to say), so even on the first time out I suffered no blisters or rubbing. I gladly exchange water-resistance for the breathability of the mesh sides, so no complaints from me there. In addition to fit, the sole is firm enough to protect you from rough terrain but not so firm (like my last pair of Lowas) that they have no grip. They were good on rock faces as well as the trail. Like I said: great fit, great shoe. I even like the color (aqua)!

Fit: True to size

I got this coat in the hopes of replacing my old warhorse of a down coat that saw me through many MN and Chicago winters but was, I must say, ugly as sin. This one looks nice when zipped -- the diagonal and offset zipper causes the coat to hang oddly when open. But I found it really hard to believe that it is the 800-fill it claims. The coat as a whole felt really flimsy and insubstantial. I ordered it at the same time as the Marmot Montreaux and there was no comparison. I felt wrapped in heavenly cushy warmth with the Marmot even though it is supposedly of a lesser fill (750). I am keeping it and returning the Nau.

For anyone else looking for a really warm coat, I would suggest you pass on this one.
