Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I typically wear a size 9 (Brooks) running shoe. Size 9.5 (Ahnu Montera Waterproof) hiking boot/shoe in My right foot is larger than my left, I measure out to wear a 9 in my right foot and a 8.5 in my left. This is important for this review because I originally ordered a 9.5 (not sure what I was thinking) and they were BOATS! I then exchanged them for 9s which I expected to fit like my running shoes, but were also too long in the mid-foot (meaning, the natural break for the shoe was actually farther out toward the tips of the toes, not where the toes meet the metatarsals). I finally exchanged the 9s for 8.5 and found I still have PLENTY of room in the toe box, even on my right foot, almost a hiking boot's toe-room where I'd have to shove my foot all the way forward with much effort to reach the end of the shoe. So, I'd say they run slightly small, comparatively speaking (comparing to all my other casual shoes, 8.5 is usually quite tight on my right foot, but for these, it's still ultra roomy!)

After finally getting the shoe that fits - I fell in love. The color, the look, the comfort, all won me over! I'm surprised that such a low profile shoe can have such a comfortable sole. I've received several compliments on them, and I have to admit - they are a super flattering design.

If they had these in more colors, I'd buy them all. If they had these in hi-top form, I'd probably buy out the company. XD

Not all baselayers have to feel shrinkwrapped to your body. This comfortable fit top makes a great warm baselayer and camp top. I love the mild waffling of the fabric which I attribute to additional warmth provided. I got the Medium and find that the thumb loops come in handy when trying to layer on top of it - not sure I need the thumb loops past that, unless I need the sleeves to stay in place under some gloves.

I got it in Feather Grey - it's a nice change from all the dark and stormy baselayer colors that are so popular!

I bought these to wear on a hiking trip up the 14ers around Kite Lake in CO. These did not disappoint. A great fitted (but not chokingly tight) sleep pant (in a warm sleeping bag) and baselayer under some more technical pants.

I'm just over 5' 9.5

This is a perfect "Texas Winter Coat" - or a good fall jacket in any state north of 32.77deg latitude. :) I'm about 5' 9.5" 145lbs with LONG arms (apparently) at 20.5" from armpit to wrist (21.5" from shoulder to wrist) - the Medium fit around me perfectly, but the arms were just uncomfortably sitting at my wrist; if I reached out my arm, or bent an elbow, the sleeves would come up the forearm - BRRR (if it was wintery, that is). So, I exchanged for a large in both the black and the tribal pattern.

Now I have room to layer underneath where I didn't really before, AND the sleeves are a comfortable length that won't make me need to wear elbow length gloves when it's chilly out.

I wouldn't say it's a "light" jacket - I get warm almost instantly when I put it on, but I haven't had the chance to test it in wind chill yet. We shall see!

Height field will only allow me to do a whole number, and since I'm just over 5' 9.5" I decided to round up. Depending on what gas station I leave, I'm 5'10 anyway. XD
