Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great basic flat metal pedal for a good value. The construction is average, I would say, not terribly nice, but not junk either. The material is actually a cast aluminum. The only machining done on the pedal is cosmetic. Make sure to tighten up the inner nuts before use - remove the outer nuts, in order to gain access to the inners. One of mine fell out, but I just switched it out for one of the seemingly useless outer nuts. These pedals hold up to abuse, and the studs are super-grippy.

These were my first pear of chamois/shammy shorts, and I love them. I wear these shorts for every ride, and they are a solid performer. I even took a digger at 29 MPH, which ripped open my elbow, but the shorts only got a small 1" tear in them. On colder days, I wear the chamois under my long pants: the best solution for maximum comfort.

These work great for me as a basic every day glove. I am sure there are better gloves out there, but these do the trick for me. No frills, not much padding, basic.

I got one of these for each of the bikes in our family. They are great for any kind of biking. Simple, small, reliable, and inexpensive. I am thinking about getting another for our stroller to part the sea of slow-walkers when we are visiting big cities.

For a full-featured, lightweight helmet, you can't beat it for the price. The Watu is so light and well-ventilated, I forget that I even have it on sometimes - good thing I do, though! If you're looking for the best value in a helmet, you've found it.

Rossignol really nailed it with this ski design. In my opinion, this is the best new rocker ski design to date. It combines an excellent tapered tip and tail, with a good amount of rocker, with traditional sidecut and camber underfoot, to create a ski that excels in all kinds of terrain. You can charge hard through the deepest of pow and lay down a great carve on hardpack. This is a great ski.
