The ATC-XP by Black Diamond is the go-to tube style belay device for any climber. I prefer the XP rather than the regular old ATC because of the added friction for the brake hand. It is super simple to lower, and I'd recommend this device for all beginners.
It is really easy to use for rappelling as well.

I got these for my wife who is a beginner climber. They are great shoes and they get the job done. The Stealth rubber is super sticky and grips onto everything. She wears a 9.5 street shoe but got these in a 10.0. Her forefoot is pretty wide and the 9.5 would have been a killer to break in. If you have a narrow foot, I'd probably recommend staying true to size as they will stretch a bit.

The Anasazi Lace Up's are a great shoe. First off, they are really comfortable and being lace ups you can get a really good fit; ie. no dead spaces, no hot spots. They do great smearing on Little Cottonwood's granite as well as edging out small holds on anything vertical to overhanging.
The Laces are really long I usually end up triple knotting them or making strange knots in attempt to eat up the excess of lace. I've bouldered and sport climbed in them and they haven't stretched.
In regards to sizing, I would reccomend getting a half size down from you street size. I wear an 11 street shoe or 45 european. And I got a 10.5 in these and they fit great. Tight but not so much that I can't keep them on between climbs.

These sneakers are really comfortable. Provide more cushion than your average Vans. They look good and are durable. They fit true to size. I wear a size 11 and they fit spot on. I really like the black color.

This jacket is a baggier fit. It looks really good on my wife but she mentioned that it is really long and has a loose fit but if she got a small the sleeves would be too small and the chest would be too tight. Probably don't size down but expect a looser fit.

As a beginner climber, my hands are being absolutely thrashed by just about everything. Split fingers, blisters, calluses, and super-dry cracking hands. I have been using lotion, it makes my hands soft but doesn't heal the cuts and injuries on my hands. I picked up this repair balm and I swear this stuff is magic. I had popped blisters on both pinky fingers and I had a hard time climbing with bandages. Slapped this stuff on there and it's like my skin just grew an extra layer of hard skin at a super speedy rate. Also, the stuff doesn't feel greasy so you can still do things while your hands are being worked on by the little wizards inside of this stuff. I've been using it mostly after I climb and a few hours before.

This backpack is great for everyday use. I take it to school, even up into the mountains on short day hikes. It has plenty of storage and deep bottle pockets. Great assortment of colors is nice. Haven't had any problems with the zippers and so far so good.

The Ferrosi Summit jacket is exactly what it says it is. A softshell to keep you dry in the alpine. With a stretchy material that promotes mobility, you can take this with you hiking, rock climbing, etc. It doesn't provide much insulation, but it kept me warm on chilly and windy days where I was outside and active. I honestly liked the roughness of the material, it felt durable and like it wasn't going to get snagged and tear easily.

I am a big fan of KEEN shoes. They seem to have a wider toe box than a lot of shoes these days and the Targhee III fits that bill. These hiking boots are very comfortable on the trail and provide plenty of support so you are not feeling every rock that you cross paths with. For me, that fit perfectly true to size. I wear an 11 and I picked myself up a size 11 in these boots. Would recommend to anyone that has had trouble finding good fitting boots due to wider feet or having issues with your toes being scrunched up.
