Jordan Kelch's Bio

Pacific Northwest born, Southern raised, Midwest education but decided to head West after graduation. Utah was calling and I had to find out why so my rescue pup, Duke, and I packed up the Subaru and drove to Salt Lake City. No matter where I am though, you'll find me running. I ran cross country and track in college but the elevation and steep mountains in Utah are teaching me to slow down and enjoy the scenery. My favorite brands are Brooks and Patagonia. You'll never see me without my Garmin watch on and I really appreciate a good pair of socks!

These pants are so comfortable. The waistband is comfortable and the fabric is soft. It's not clingy so you don't have to worry about underwear lines. My only complaint is that the band around the calf is a little too tight. I don't think that I have big calves so I imagine someone with really muscular calves would be uncomfortable.

I could wear these all day every day

My only complaint is that they tend to run a little small. The smalls are just barely too small but the mediums are too big. Besides that these shorts are awesome! The liner stays in place and the material is on point! I love taking these on weekend camping trips or trail run weekends because they dry so quickly. I recently went on a two week vacation in California and we stayed at camp spots multiple nights and I rinsed them off in the showers or the creek and they were dry the next morning. The waist band is also fantastic. No chaffing, super comfortable and it stays in place. You gotta try out these shorts no matter what your summer plans are, running, hiking, camping or just hanging out in the heat.

These pants and super comfy, light and the waist band is awesome. I was tired of wearing capri leggings every day so I'm trying to find some capris that are equally as comfortable. The waistband is my favorite part. The length is good too. I also tried some Prana capris and they hit me right under the knee. These are actually capri length, mid calf. My only complaints are that because they are thin, I get underwear lines and the material is not good for extreme heat. The underwear lines I can deal with. I just have to find the right undies. As for the heat though, I wore these on a hot lunch break walk recently and if you're planning to get really sweaty they're not the right material, it's kind of sticky and shows the sweat. But, for casual wear or brisk weather, they're great.

Okay Pants, Not as Comfy as I Hoped

I really wanted some comfy capris for work and am trying to avoid leggings and jeans. When I first put these on I wasn't in love. I thought the seam that goes straight down the front made my legs look weird. Once they stretched out a little bit and I put my whole outfit together though, I decided I liked them. My only real complaint is the waist band and button. I was really hoping a for a comfy waistband and button like the Halle pants. I hate when the button digs into your stomach while you're sitting at your desk or in the car and these do that. The Tree Bark color is also off in the pictures. It's much more red, almost like a red clay color.

These are fantastic! Soft, comfortable, breathable, all around awesome undies. I'm particular about the waistband and the part that goes around your legs to hold them in place, I hate picking wedgies. I have no complaints about these though! You really need to get yourself a pair!

This bra is super cute and as always the Icebreaker merino wool blend is soft and durable. But... the measurements don't quite work for me. The actual cup part of the bra, the part that holds your girls, isn't very tight but the band at the bottom that keeps it in place is really tight... It's like I need a medium band put on extra small cups... Which is odd because I've never needed a medium bra in my whole life. My sports bra drawer is full of smalls across all brands. Usually when a bra is snug and tighter, I wear it for running and my bras that are a little more loose fitting and not so constricting I wear for yoga or just around town but because the band on this one is really tight it's not exactly comfy for wearing leisurely and because the chest part isn't tight enough I can't really work out in it either. It's worth trying on because if it fits you right it's really cute and everything else I have from Icebreaker is fantastic and the quality is top notch. It does not have removable pads so keep that in mind too. I really wish it had worked for me!

You just have to try these on to understand how cool they are. They are the perfect summer sandal. They're comfortable enough to wear on short hikes, the rope makes them great for playing in the water and they're just great all around hanging out summer sandals. I tried them because I have wide feet and sandals are just plain hard for me to find. Usually Chacos and Birkenstocks are the only sandals that work for me so I was excited to find Keen. They're much more functional than I expected. They're breathable because of the space between the ropes but there is still enough rope to offer some protection. I wouldn't hike in my Birkenstocks and my Chacos are so open I can still stub my toes. I like these because they're kind of part shoe and part sandal. Seriously the perfect outdoorsy summer shoe. Don't be afraid to look dorky and just get yourself a pair.

My boyfriend and I call this my maggot jacket but don't let the weird name bother you. If you're looking for a functional and flattering rain jacket this is the one. I had the Precip but for a just a little bit more money you get a lot more features. One the fit flattering, it's not a boxy rain jacket with a plain hood. It's hard to see in the photos above but it does have a drop tail so the back covers your booty. You can zip it all the way up and cover your face and neck during a really crazy storm or just zip it to your chest during light rain or to protect you from the wind. I've used it for running in the rain or snow, hiking and as a spring rain jacket and it has been great for all scenarios. If you're looking for a well rounded rain jacket good for lots of occasions, this is the one. It's great for anyone hiking or exercising outdoors, National Park hopping or traveling or just to keep in the car for rainy days.

Halle, whoever you are and wherever you are, thank you! In all honesty, I bought these pants because they're popular here at work and I wanted to fit in. But now I have 2 pairs and I recommend them to everyone. I totally understand why they're so popular! If you don't like jeans because they're uncomfortable but you're over the leggings scene, these are the pants. They're as comfortable as leggings or sweatpants but don't look loungy. I love that they can be worn as full length pants or as capris. I mostly wear them as capris but they're nice to unclip every once in a while when it's chilly or when you're hiking through brush and don't want to tear up your legs. The stretch is really awesome too. I'm a mediocre gym climber if that but they're stretchy enough for me to climb in and you can just wipe the chalk off and go run errands after. The material is seriously amazing. I was sure I stained them and that they'd be nasty after a really muddy hike but they wash up just like new. I was hesitant to put them in the dryer but the Prana reps said to dry them every once in awhile to reactivate the DWR treatment. Just try them on, you just gotta.

These shorts are FANTASTIC! I run a lot and it's hard to find shorts that have a comfortable waistband, that are the right length, that the liner stays in place and that you don't notice after hours of running. These are those shorts though! My favorite part is the waistband. It's super soft and stays in place. Next, the liner, I don't have much feedback on it because I don't even notice it's there! Which is good right?! The length is great too. I wouldn't mind a tad bit shorter but they're not obnoxiously short like some running shorts. I have kind of a bubble butt though so sometimes shorts that look like a good length on someone with a smaller butt look a lot shorter on me. These fall nicely over my back end and cover an appropriate portion of my thighs. We have a family history of melanoma so I love that they have sun protection too. If you're a runner, a hiker or just someone who spends a lot of time outside in shorts, you have to try these!

Brooks Buyer For Life!
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I've always loved Brooks so when I moved to Utah I decided it was time to try out the famous Brooks Cascadias and as usual, Brooks is amazing! I do a lot of trail running and hiking and these are perfect for those runs where there's a lot of climbing and descending because of the cushion, traction and support. I feel like I have good traction going up, good cushion to protect me on the way down and good support on really rocky terrain. A friend told me that they would be too much cushion for me but I disagree. I really like the cushion on these. I have really bad plantar fasciitis so stepping on rocks and really long runs can be really painful. There is enough cushion on these to relieve some of that pain. On days when it hurts more than usual or if I'm going on a really long run on a more technical trail, I'll wear my Curex insoles in them for even more relief and cushioning. I also LOVE the colors! If I had to find something to complain about I would say they're not as wide as I would really like and the laces aren't very long. But, the width hasn't caused me any problems so far and even though it's tight, I can still manage a little bow.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Fit: True to size
Size Purchased: 34×30

I got these pants for my dad for his birthday and he called me the next day to ask what other colors they came in because he wanted a couple more pairs! He's in the car a lot for work and he said he can't even tell he's wearing pants! He said the waistband is the most comfortable waistband he's ever had on non lounge wear pants and he loves that little easy cinch buckle feature. He's also a golfer so I thought these would be good pants to wear to work and then straight to the golf course after. I asked my mom what size to get him because I was really worried about Prana's sizing running weird but she said in the 26 years they've been married he's always been a 34×30 so that's what I got him and they fit perfect!

I got this shirt for my dad for his birthday. I thought it would be great shirt for him to wear to work and straight to the golf course after and he said that it's great for exactly that! It's super thin and technical but doesn't look it. He can dress it up or dress it down. It's super breathable and awesome for really hot summer days where you don't want to have armpit sweat marks. We have a history of melanoma in our family so the sun protection is always a huge plus for us!

Marmot Tungsten

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love that Marmot bends their poles to maximize living space. If you're claustrophobic, every bit of space counts! The set up is super easy too. The poles and clips are color coded so you know exactly what pieces connect to each other. The light pocket is a super awesome feature as well!
