Jordan Kelch's Bio

Pacific Northwest born, Southern raised, Midwest education but decided to head West after graduation. Utah was calling and I had to find out why so my rescue pup, Duke, and I packed up the Subaru and drove to Salt Lake City. No matter where I am though, you'll find me running. I ran cross country and track in college but the elevation and steep mountains in Utah are teaching me to slow down and enjoy the scenery. My favorite brands are Brooks and Patagonia. You'll never see me without my Garmin watch on and I really appreciate a good pair of socks!

I love the Nine Trails line. The shorts are my favorite and I'm constantly stealing my boyfriends Nine Trails tshirt so I was super excited when I saw a women's. But, the fit was off for me. I actually prefer the men's fit. It did not hit me in the right places and I wasn't stoked about the colors. I wish there was a plain grey or the Beryl Green they have in other shirts.

This is just a plain expensive shirt. I thought maybe it would be a more flattering fit and better quality because it is made by Patagonia but it's just a plain shirt. The fit isn't anything special and if I were to complain about one thing it would be the sheerness. For me it's a layering top because it's too thin to wear alone. I do love the light green color though.

Past models were thicker so that is what I was expecting. When I got this shirt it was thin and not the same texture as the picture. I got a medium thinking Nike ran small but it was too big. A small would have been a better fit but because it didn't feel and look like I thought it would I returned it. If I needed another thin running top I would have kept it.

I love this jacket. Another review says it's boxy and it is but that's why I like it. It's the perfect slouchy jacket to throw on with leggings. I love that they didn't put a big Columbia logo on it so it looks clean and simple. The fabric is really nice and thick. It's my go to everything jacket, throw it on with jeans, after a run, to run errands, to go to and from yoga. I love the colors, simple and plain but not another black jacket.

I have absolutely no complaints about this jacket. I love the fit, the color and the fleece on the inside. It's functional and flattering. The insulation, fleece and length make it super warm and perfect for winter.

Stealing this from my boyfriend

This jacket is awesome and Backcountry doesn't carry it in womens so I'm constantly stealing my boyfriends. I have a couple of rain jackets that I run in but they've always just been okay... They get the job done but they're not exactly enjoyable to run in. Most rain jackets are way too warm for running and the crinkly waterproof fabric is loud and obnoxious. This jacket isn't like that at all. It's not crinkly, it's not too warm and it's soft against your skin if you want to wear a tank top or short sleeve underneath. My previous rain jackets weren't very compactable either. This one packs down smaller than an avocado which is great for long runs or trail runs with a pack. Or, for hikers who want a super light emergency rain jacket. I recommend this jacket to anyone who lives somewhere with rainy spring weather and still wants to get outside regardless of the precipitation. The men's small fits pretty well actually!

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got my dad this mug because my whole life he somehow drives to work every morning with a regular mug in his hand. I thought this would be a better system and in Wisconsin, where temps are below zero most of the winter, it will keep his coffee warmer longer. He loves it and loves the look as Stanley has been around for a while. He loves the handle too. He tried a Yeti a while back and didn't like not having a handle.

I got these pants for my dad for Christmas and he said "these pants are f#@$ing awesome!" But... they're way too long. The size chart says that a 34 regular has a 31 inch inseam so I went for it even though "he's been a 34×30 for 25 years." They are more like a 32 inch inseam or maybe longer because they were WAY too long on him. He really loved everything about the pants except for the length but because there are no inseam options we exchanged them for some Carhartts and Mountain Hardwear pants that came in a 34×30.

I got my dad these pants for Christmas because there are days/weeks in Wisconsin when the temperature stays below zero. Unlined pants just aren't an option. He said the fit is good and the fleece is really nice. They're great all around pants, can be worn to work, to run errands, or to snow blow the drive way. I would definitely recommend these to friends and family as a great winter pant.

I originally got my dad a pair of Prana lined pants for Christmas but the inseam was too long. He needed a 34×30 so I got him these pants instead. He said the fit is spot on and the flannel is awesome. He lives in Wisconsin where it's been below zero for a couple of days now and says the lining is life changing!

I love this jacket because it's so light! Winter jackets tend to make me feel restricted and heavy but not this one. You can barely feel the jacket when you're wearing it and it's functional. I don't feel restrained in any way. The fit is very flattering as well. I love that it is featherless. Feeling it you'd think it was down but no feathers will poke out of this guy. If you're looking for a light layering insulation piece or a cozy light jacket for mild winters this is a great option.

Best Running Socks Ever
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are my favorite running socks. I have absolutely no complaints about their fit, staying in place, chaffing etc. They have some cushioning on the bottom around the ball of your foot and the heel and then the top is thin so your feet can breath. I love the no slip tab on the back, they really stay in place. I ordered the Pink Berry/Lilac color and didn't get what is pictured on the site but I don't mind because they're still great socks.

If you're in need of some good quality running socks, or just good socks in general, Balega is the way to go! I love the secure heel and the super soft material. In my opinion the size chart is a little off. I got smalls because I wear a 7.5 and they are ok but I wish I had gotten mediums.

This vest didn't fit the way I thought it would but I ended up keeping it anyway. The seam/fold at the bottom kind of creates a flared look and I can't decide if I really like that or not. It's also a little baggy and not as fitted as I thought it would be. What I do like about this vest though is the cozy sherpa fleece and the drop hem.

I wish I had one of these in every single color so I could wear them all winter long! They do run super small AND shrink so go up a size or two even. I'm normally a small in tops but I got a medium knowing it ran small. I wish I had gotten a large because once it shrank it's a little snug. They're super warm and soft and they wash well besides the shrinking. I have one of Patagonia's Better Sweaters and I was really disappointed in the way it looked after a couple of washes. The Re-Tool though washes just fine! I got the Buffalo Green color and I love it with jeans or leggings.

These aren't exactly what I thought they would be but I kept them anyway and wish I had returned them. The waistband material is amazing but it's huge and you have to fold it over really far. For me, past the pockets. They kind of look like pregnancy pants... And the length is kind of funky. They are a little short to wear as pants but they're not made to be crops I don't think. I roll them up once or twice and wear them as 7/8 or cropped pants. The fabric is amazing which is why I tried to make them work but every time I wear them the waist band drives me crazy and it's too late to return them.
