Just got these pants this week. It snowed today so I put them on for snow removal and wood processing in the snow. I would like to tell you I was ice climbing in them but i wasn’t. For what I did today they were great. They will eventually be used for winter camping and snowshoeing.
What I like is that North Face now offers pants in a short. Not all of us can be a 6 foot 3 Norse God of bushcrafting. I am 5’6” and a 195 lbs. I am not fat but pretty blocky ,Too many pull downs and bench presses has made my back a pain in the ass to fit for my 5’6” frame. Usually the clothing is too long (arms or legs) for my shorter frame. This bib is a touch tight in the chest but the inseam and stomach fit is great. I am really happy so far with these bibs. These were a replacement for my old Campmor bibs that gave me over 25 yrs of service before buying the farm.
PROS // love the 2 tone color black /olive
2) nice pockets, warm lined front ones , awesome bib for chapstick , eyedrops, or other things
3) front vents were great to air out while splitting wood , will be great for snowshoeing
4 ) I am 5’6” and these look great don’t have to get them hemmed or have to roll them up as they work for my 29 inch inseam
1) only right side zip to get into pants and no calf/boot zipper( usually this is a curse but in short I would like it
2) no snaps /buckles on the shoulder straps , have to slide over head
I review really happy with these do far , I would have better insight if I put them through harder / backcountry conditions, but I don’t regret my purchase.
