John Coleman's Bio

I'm a transplant from Minnesota, who moved west for the mountains. I enjoy bagging peaks, sliding on snow, exploring the desert, and finding my way through wild landscapes.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have heard tales of how great these black hole duffels are, and was finally able to get my hands on one. Light, durable material, and packs up small when not in use. I have used it car camping, road tripping, and on a ski hut trip where it kept my gear dry in a blizzard. Very nice. I envision this bag being used for many years to come.

I bought this pad when a comparable pad from a different brand sprung a mystery leak on day 1 of a week long trip. Its light, packs down small, and is very comfortable. One of my favorite features is that the bottom material is thicker than the top, which will make this pad more durable without sacrificing much weight, and gives peace of mind when using on rougher ground. This pad is also less noisy than other inflatable pad, which is nice. Would very much recommend to anyone looking for a nice pad without breaking the bank.

Made this purchase for bagging some spring summits here in the Wasatch. I got the 75cm ( I'm 5'11")size and found it to be perfect for hiking up and glissading down steep snow fields. Although this axe is heavier than a lot of other comparable axes, I dont think it negatively affected its use. Solid value buy.

Everything that you would expect from the classic Z sandal. Excellent support, good grip, and the wider straps are very comfortable. I didn't feel like there was much, if any, break in period. As always, very happy about my chacos.
The only thing that I would knock about these sandals are the metal buckle; they look good, just feel like the added weight detracts from the sandal a bit.

Everything that you would want in a flannel- classic style, relaxed fit, soft & warm material. I own several flannel shirts and this is by far the heaviest material of them all. It has layered well under a jacket in the winter; and now that the weather is trending towards spring will be a great substitute for a sweatshirt. Overall, very happy with this purchase and would buy again.

This is exactly what you would expect for a hoodie. Material is soft, has held up well in the wash, and looks good. The only thing that I don't like is that the cuffs aren't very elastic and might wear out quick.

I was super happy to use some of the christmas cash that was burning a hole in my pocket on this piece. I have used it a few days on the mountain and around town as a insulating layer, and it works like a dream. The vest is very light but packs a punch; I wore it over a fleece, under my ski shell in temps around 15 and was toasty. The style is nice enough to wear over a flannel or with a hoodie or sweater around town, very versatile. I got the Forge Grey color and the color is a little lighter than what I expected from the pictures. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

This will be my second season on this jacket and couldn't be happier. The shell material is burly without being super heavy. I've worn it in snow and rain, and the three layer material has never soaked through, very rad! The style is great and offers a relaxed fit that is really easy to pile on the layers for the coldest days.

Do you like hiking, climbing, or any other of the enumerable outdoor activities there are to do? Put on these pants! They are light, stretchy, durable, and comfortable. I'm looking forward to spring to wear these to the crag and on backpacking trips to the desert I have planned.

I got these shades because they had a classic look and polarized lenses. This is my first purchase from RAEN and wont be my last. These shades feel solid in your hands and while wearing them. Nice lens quality-performed well on water and on snow. The only thing to be aware of is that they are a little big for medium size faces.

The sweater is better, indeed!
I have been looking at getting one for the better part of a year, and with fall as my inspiration, finally pulled the trigger. I got this to be a casual, daily-wear piece that is a touch classier than other hoodies and fleeces, like the Synchilla Snap-T. The material is very soft, warm and has a unique heathered look. I got the Stonewash color and it looks like the granite of Little Cottonwood Canyon.
I choose to size down from my usual medium for a trimmer fit, to be worn over a t-shirt. If you would like to use this as a jacket I would stick with your normal size to accommodate layers .
Overall, quite happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

I bought my first pair in the spring and just got my second pair. These are easily the most versatile shorts I have. I can use these shorts daily, hence the second pair.... The tough and light material lends its self well to hiking, climbing, and just plain bummin' around. They even dry fast after a dip. I use the small size as the medium felt a little loose, usually a 31 waist. If you are looking for a new go-to, you've found it.
