I've been a consistent size 2 in Patagonia pants for a few years now. I even ordered last year's Island Hemp shorts in a 2, which actually started to feel small (probably change in me, not in the size). I confidently ordered a 2 for these shorts and found they were 1-2 size too large (hips 35.5"). Per other reviews, the waist gaps quite a bit, even with a normal fit around the thighs. The style is nice and functional, with great pockets and good quality fabrics--as usual with Patagonia.

Contrary to the other comments, I found this shirt to run a little small. I'm a 32AA, and this was definitely form fitting. It was also slightly shorter-waisted than expected (but I am tall for my width). It is really cute, though, and I love the style--it looks really great with jeans, shorts, or under a cardigan. The loss of stars comes partly from my inconsideration of the "hand wash" directions. I washed it on gentle cycle in my washing machine with the intent to air dry. However, as soon as it came out of the washer, it was a mess of threads. The seams and edges were almost completely unraveled. So unfortunately, this shirt will go into the yard-work or sleeping clothes drawer, but only after I trim the mess of threads, some of which are 6 inches long.

Moral of the story: cute, but follow washing directions.

First off, the chamois on this is really great. I initially thought it was too firm, but it holds up well and has been comfy so far for rides around 3 hours (haven't had time to take it for longer yet!) Second, they are super soft on the inside. Third, those pockets are the best. Only 2 drawbacks so far: First, they sometimes bunch up behind my knees. I have rolled them up over my knees when it gets annoying, so I feel that they either need to be shorter or longer (or I could grower taller or shorter). Second, although I never expect to look "good" in chamois, the part on the back of the pants where the chamois attaches to the pants is square-ish. So looking from the side, the chamois juts out a bit and pulls quite a bit on the material. If I had to be super picky, I would say the waist could be a tad higher as well. Overall, these are my fave cycling pants so far. I wish they made them without the chamois so that I could have a pair for running too!

This really is soft fabric, and it is also surprisingly more wind-proof that I would expect from something so soft. It's great for running and biking in 40-50° range. It also rolls nicely to tie around the waist when it gets warmer, plus doesn't stretch out afterwards! However, the jacket has a chemically smell that has not gone away in the 20 or so washes since I've gotten it. My partner calls it my "airport" jacket (because of the odd smell). Overall, when I first got it, I was ready to buy 5 because it was so soft and cozy, but since the smell hasn't gone away, I just can't warrant the purchases. Also, I think all "active" jackets should have zippered pockets, which this doesn't have. Maybe I'll try another season's Butter line.
