I bought these pants in charcoal last year. They fit awesome. Easily my favorite pair of pants... ever. Love the thickness of the material, the DWR is great, the button up bottoms are excellent for climbing, and the pants dry quickly when wet. I use the side pocket for a card and ID when I want to hit the town without lugging a wallet around.

Unfortunately, a few days ago I bought another pair of the exact same size in the mud color. This time around, they are baggier from top to bottom and almost drag on the ground if I'm wearing shoes or sandals (as opposed to boots). In addition, it seems like the fabric is thinner than it was before. What happened Prana?

I'll be returning these and asking somebody from Backcountry to see if I can find a pair that matches the ones I love from last year. Seems likely I'll be hunting around local shops for that, though.

Edit: I've been trying to upload a photo showing the mismatch in size between the two, but can't get the upload to work for some reason.

If moving around, at least intermittently, these are great for me down to about 20F. Walking, fly fishing, hunting - it's all good. The pattern allows full range of movement with no binding or rubbing. Even if they get wet, the wicking is good enough to keep it off your skin and keep you warm.

They're also light enough that you can hang out indoors with them on. All that said, I get out often enough at lower temperatures that I'm planning to get the heavier 4.0 version.

I use this shirt anytime I'm heading outside in any temperatures below 30-40 F. Hiking, fishing, hunting - anything. It's a great base layer - warm, wicks very well, and very little itch for wool.

In addition, if you get too warm, you can take an outer layer off and it breathes well enough to let you cool down. It's also comfortable enough that you can keep it on if you hit up the pub after your adventures.

Would have put four stars because it's not usable every day like some other base layers I've had, but for everything they've managed with wool, it deserves all five.

I took these right from the packaging and wore on an 8-mile day hike in the Rockies. They fit well and the fabric seems tough enough to hold up to the abuse I'm likely to put it through. I probably won't wear these while bouldering because they don't have as much stretch as I'd need, but they seem up to other outdoor tasks and will also double for casual indoor occasions.
