Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm tall with a larger bust & I usually avoid infinity scarves because then end up looking like Elizabethan ruffs, but I tried this on and loved it. It's soft and drapes really gently, but because it's a little bit shorter (wrap twice for a loose drape, three times for asphyxiation), I don't get anywhere near the bulk on top of my.... bulk. It's warm, cozy, and the color way has this really great heritage feel to it. I'd grab this in several patterns if I could!

I love this lid. The magnet is the only thing keeping the slide in place which means there are no mechanical parts to break. It pops on and off easily which means it's super easy to clean and prevent any weirdness. Also super durable. I drop things like they're hit records, and this lid has survived it all.

These socks are soft and cozy & exactly the right thickness to provide cushion without affecting the fit of my shoes. Having said that, they are just baaaaarely too small for my size 11 feet. They do have a tendency to slip down on the back of the ankle while wearing, which I think is a function of the size and softness. But for just hanging out around the house, they're perfect.

I've now purchased a few Nixon watches for my husband as gifts, because they're one of the few gifts that he actually enjoys receiving. This one is particularly sleek and the green face has a rich tone that I love. The battery life is extensive and they stand up to a beating as a rule. Durability AND looks? Count me in.

I love all things Hydroflask, but this little bottle is a perfect size and a cooler color. I bought the kiwi as a gift since I use my big daddy flask all day every day, and now I think I have a friend for life in the recipient. Hydroflasks maintain temperature, are durable like your ol' Uncle Charlie who just won't die, and are easy to clean. Big love.

These are my go-to gifts this year. I pretend like I'm Oprah, because EVERYBODY gets a hydroflask! I got this one for my 10 year old niece who keeps her water bottle in her backpack which, naturally, gets banged around. The durability on these things is unmatched. Added bonus: I once had a lid that leaked and reached out to Hydroflask and they sent a replacement within a day!

This is my go to every thing cup. I fill it with coffee in the morning for my drive to work, hot tea for my first few hours and then cold water and tea for the afternoon. I love being able to use the same cup throughout the whole day and keep my beverage at the right temp. Added bonus: a few days ago, I dropped the cup and the lid popped off. I was instantly bummed, because I saw the slider had come off the plastic lid. Imagine my joy when I discovered that it's held in place simply by magnets (or magic? who can say?) and popped right back on. For a klutz like me it's a dream come true!

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

After my husband's wallet was stolen, I finally had the chance to upgrade him from his 20 year old high school tri-fold. He loves the sleek look & feel and announced that it doesn't hurt to have this one in his back pocket. So, for all of the sore, wallet-sitting bums, this is a win. I especially love that the driver's license pocket is mesh, so he doesn't have to take it out to show his ID. One less chance to lose it!

Is it possible that there's a shoe in existence that an bridge almost a decade of discordance between a woman and her mother-in-law? I assert the affirmative and that the shoe in question is the Harper. One rainy afternoon, we spent hours discussing my MIL's difficulties in finding footwear (narrow heel that gives way to wide toes) and looking at possible solutions. Finally, I showed her my waterproof Chaco boots and it was love at first sight! I bought her these for Christmas and haven't heard a single complaint. Moreover, when the arrived, I fell in love and have every intention of ordering a pair for myself. Whether or not we twin in public is a totally different story.

I gave these to my 10 year old niece for Christmas and she was over the moon. I love that there's bright pink, but they're not overly girly. The cinching at the wrist is perfect for keeping warmth in and snow out, and the longer gauntlet is great for covering the end of her sleeves so she stays all the way warm. Love Columbia and products like these gloves are why!

I gave these to my 10 year old niece for Christmas this year and she was in heaven. The pull on style is actually great for her as she's often running in and out of the house! The quality of the stitching is fantastic and the fuzzy insides made her a little giddy (which made my fuzzy insides giddy). They appear to be good enough quality to be handed down to her sister in a year or two!

I bought this for my 14 year old niece for Christmas and instantly became the cool aunt. She asked for a string backpack to carry around running gear during the day, and this apparently was met with wild approval. When I unpacked it myself, I was actually surprised by the high quality and a few of the finer details, including the padded back and elastic side pieces.

I bought these for my sister for Christmas and she's delighted with them. I'll update as she uses them more, but she broke them in while cleaning her backyard after a storm. She said that they are "non-blistery" against her skin and she had great grip on wet concrete and grass. I expect her first kayak foray will provide equally positive raves!

Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 215 lbs
Size Purchased: XLarge

My father in law is the kind of guy who never wears a jacket, if he can help it. Instead, he wears flannel so I picked this heavy, lined shirt for him. He loves the color and the fit is perfect on him. I'll probably get another for the hubs b/c I loved the quality of this so well.

Once, my husband put peppermint schnapps in my rye whiskey flask. It's a testament to the power of Stanley that our marriage survived, because the stainless steel washed clean. I would never break the rules and sneak a flask into a movie theater or anything, but I can only imagine that if I did, it would have a perfect fitting lid that doesn't squeak when opening or closing, doesn't leak when stowed away and is slim enough to not show when being visually inspected. Hypothetically.

My grandpa had one of these that he took to work at the American Can Company ever day for decades. You know what? The damn thing still works like a dream. There are all sorts of hipster drinking vessels on the market these days and some of them are pretty great. For a classic, however, trust Stanley.

I ordered the gray & LOVE how it looks when I hold it - soft, and the pom is all kinds of cute. I have a slightly larger noggin, so instead of slouching & creating a darling, relaxed profile, the pom sticks straight up and I look S.T.U.P.I.D. I'll bet it's super cute on people with smaller heads, but for me the knit is just a bit too stiff to be cute.
