This is a great helmet. I have worn Giro, POC and Bell. This is the most comfortable helmet I have ever put on, Mountain or Road. And, it has MIPS, Boa tightening, and a great magnetic clasp. If there is even a minor negative, it is that the visor is not really adjustable.

For mid strength protection, these are great. I also use POC VPD 2.0 knee, shin and elbow pads, which are also quite good. These are a little more comfortable. The elbow pads don't completely cover the medial epicondyle, but it would take an odd hit to get that one location. They breath well, and I believe that in anything but a high speed downhill fall, they would do the job.

The only drawback is that the shin pads only extend about 1/2 way down my leg (I am 6' 3"). They breath well, and I believe that in anything but a high speed downhill fall, they would do the job.

These are my third pair of Five Tens. I had the original Impacts, and I still wear Freeriders. Both great shoes-- but these are better. FAR lighter and more comfortable than the original Impacts. More comfortable and better sole/traction/protection than the Freeriders. These are great in the mud, however they are NOT waterproof. They do dry quickly, which is a plus, and they shed mud easily and clean up completely.

The soles are phenomenal. Stick to my RaceFace Atlas pedals through rock gardens, drops and G outs, yet I can reposition when necessary. Going to order another pair now, just in case they change them and 'lose' this winning formula.
