Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've told people time and again that a good headlamp is one of the most valuable hiking items in which to invest, especially in the winter months when it's dark for half the day. This light is great: lightweight, rechargeable, extremely bright at its highest setting, and nice and dim at its lowest. The red light is also ideal for keep night vision intact - and not blinding everyone around you. It's worth the money!

I was looking for a solid 1-person tent that didn't cost a fortune, and I found it. This tent is perfect for a single backpacker: packs light, free-standing (without rainfly), is durable, and it's backed by a great Marmot warranty. I'm 5'11", 170 lbs and I fit entirely comfortably inside, and I love the provided vestibule area. I would have liked to have a footprint come with it, but I appreciate keeping the cost down.

These are, hands-down, the best pants I've ever worn. They are shockingly comfortable. The waist size is right on, and the small belt helps to keep them snug as you wear them. The gusseted and ventilated crotch is fantastic and keeps the pants from ever feeling constricted. They also repel water and stains very well. Lastly, the buttons at the bottom that allow them to roll up are just icing on the cake!

I've had great luck with this stuff sack. I frequently take outdoor trips with 20-30 high school students and we give these out for sleeping bags and clothes. We've yet to have any problems with them whatsoever. They cinch down really well and our gear seems to always stay dry. I will agree with other reviewers that the webbing can seem a little flimsy, but that seems like a good trade-off considering the weight savings. Lastly, the OR brand, and its warranty, is definitely a positive factor!

I ordered this jacket to replace and REI jacket I lost. First, I've found that I can always trust Marmot for quality build and construction, and this jacket is no exception. All seams are well-sealed and it fits great. It's not too snug and not too big. Thus far, water-proofing has been excellent! I wore it for about an hour in an absolute downpour and I stayed dry, even on my shoulders and behind the zipper. One important improvement I've noticed over my old jacket is that this one is also so QUIET! My last jacket was like wearing a potato chip bag, but this jacket is silent, even with the hood up. This seems like no big deal, until you wear the hood up and realize you can still hear! I highly recommend this is you plan on possibly getting wet!

I ordered this shirt to wear during the warmer summer months, and I have not been disappointed. It’s well-constructed, and feels like it will stand up well to some time spent outside, but it’s also long enough to tuck in and look decent at a get-together. Best of all, it’s lightweight and breathable. It also resists wrinkling, which makes it a great shirt to pack for a warm-weather trip.

I have both the Quandary shorts and pants. I bought size 32 in the shorts and they're a tad big, but the 31" pants fit perfectly. I wear a 31 typically, so they're definitely true-to-size. The quality is great, as you might expect from Patagonia, and the fit is great. They're not too loose, but not too tight and the material breathes really well.

The lightest shirt I've ever worn

I ordered this shirt because I've always been happy with Patagonia clothing, and I wasn't disappointed. My first time wearing it was during an hour long trail run: it was warm and humid, as you can tell from the sweat, but the shirt stayed light and cool the entire time. Having been made by Patagonia, I have the utmost faith in the stitching, as well. It dries quickly and stays light. It's exactly what I was hoping for.

I recently purchased these pants, and immediately had a chance to use them during a rainy Wilderness First Aid Course. I was lying on the ground, covered in leaves, sliding down hills...all in the rain. My legs never once got wet, and the pants stayed comfortable the whole time. I would have been soaked without them, and they pack down in a pocket, so they'll be great to take backpacking.
