James Griffin's Bio

I recently relocated to the mountains of Utah from the beaches of Florida so I could take advantage of all the outdoor activities Salt Lake City has to offer. When not in the office I can be found riding my bike, running with my dog Murphy or camping in one of the many canyons we have close by. I also love traveling the country, competing in triathlons, and checking out local breweries along the way!

The Stansbury is our new packable down jacket, great for everything from ski layering to bar hopping. I size up in this style to get the most out of my active pursuits while still having the room and comfort for daily wear.

This great top for those cold Fall and Winter days. The fabric for the Plaid Fendler is soft yet tough and made to last. I like to wear this with a baselayer or undershirt and would suggest going up a size to get the fit you like. I'm 6' 175 and opt for the Large size.

The Wolverine Cirque got an update this year and is now a fully synthetic insulated jacket instead of a hybrid like previous years.
We designed this piece to be a perfect mid-layer to be worn under you ski shell. The slim fit and clean design makes it great for just that but it is also ideal for everything from chilly hikes to neighborhood strolls with the pup.
I typically wear a medium in the other jackets in our collection but for this I opt for a Large. Still get the slim low profile performance in the larger size but slightly more comfort for everyday wear.
I'm 6' and 175#

This is a very warm yet surprisingly lightweight jacket for those cold days walking around town in the winter. The microfleece chin guard is awesome and feels great against you face while you have the jacket fully zipped. I also love that the waist has an adjustable draw cord to seal out the cold!
Fit is on point! The medium size is perfect for me at 6' 175#s.

The Hallett makes for a fantastic mid-layer that is super functional. Can be worn as a stand alone jacket for those chilly Fall and Spring days while also layering perfectly under a shell. Because it is so lightweight you can throw it in your pack and pull it out when needed. The Pertex face fabric sheds light rain and snow and the generous pockets make it perfect for wearing around town. The chest pocket easily fits my phone and will be a great storage solution for the cold days on the mountain this winter.
At 6' 175#s the medium size fits me exactly as I would want. I have full range of motion in the arms and the waist length is spot on!

This top is super functional during the summer time! Great for both ski touring and fishing. As a fair skinned red-headed I have tried just about every UV shirt there is and this might be my favorite. The lightweight breathable material will be awesome for trips back home to Florida!

I have been skiing in the Hayden for about a month and a half now. Couple things that really stand out are the ventilation and the stretch. The pit zips are large and do a great job dumping heat. The dual zipper is also a fantastic feature that allows for some added ventilation without having to keep the jacket open. The chest pockets are large enough to hold your skins which is awesome though I would have liked to have an additional hip pocket or something.
The material has a nice amount of stretch that gives you a comfortable fit and great range of motion. Perfect length for a touring specific jacket. I would probably have gone with the medium size if I were to do it again. I'm just over 6' and about 180. The Large size definitely works but has a little more room than I typically like.
The arm length is perfect. So many shells I have tested have really long sleeves which can definitely serve a purpose in some situations but for an everyday touring jacket I don't think it is necessary. The cuffs work well with gauntlet or under the cuff style gloves.
Overall a great piece that I look forward to throwing on as I gear up to go hit the mountain. It is slightly heavier than I expected but nothing that's going to hold you back . Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for some added breath-ability in a softshell that can take come punishment.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My favorite thing about these bindings is that I can grab one set of skis and head to the mountain regardless of what my plans are. Spinning
laps at the resort all day? Great, I'll take my Salomon QST 106 with Shifts! Going for a tour in the Wasatch? Same exact setup.
My advise is don't go too wide on the brakes. For a 106 underfoot I would go with the 100mm brake width. For something like the QST 118. go with the 110mm brake. These are the same setups the Salomon uses for their demos here in Utah.

I love the size of this pack. You can carry all of the essential avy gear with easy and still have room for a couple cold beers without feeling bogged down. The clam shell design allows you to get to the gear you need without having to pull everything out while on the mountain.
A convenient pocket on the hip belt is great for stashing your keys or a snack for the trail. Both A-frame and diagonal carry options available for boot packing.
Overall great pack that is easy to adjust and perfect for single days in the mountains.

Haven't tested it out in the real world just yet since it's snowing non stop here in Utah this winter. Very excited to see Giordana jump into the world of triathlon though, hopefully their sock sales don't drop off too much.
The fit is exactly what I expected which is fantastic. I'm 6' 175# and went with a Large. It provides great coverage and UV protection for a ghostly white human like myself. The slight compression should come in handy for those long efforts in the hot sun. Silicone grippers on the sleeves and legs keep it in place.
The chamois worked great from what I can tell thus far on just a quick trainer ride and treadmill run. Substantially better than other brands that I have used who have been making tri gear for far longer.

The Savage is hands down the best bike travel bag I have used. The internal frame provides structure and gives you peace of mind. I recently flew with Delta and had zero trouble with the size or weight restrictions.
The case comfortably held my tri bike, helmet and shoes. Separate pocket is perfect for your pedals, skewers and hex keys. I did not bring a pump with me on the trip but could have fit one in if needed.
The carry handles and larger wheels make it breeze to get in and out of the airport.
The price tag can be a little difficult to swallow but when you consider the price of the bike you're putting in it, why take the chance on a cheap travel case?

This is a fantastic button down that can be worn on the bike or at the bar. Being lightweight and ventilated it breathes incredibly well without looking like a very technically piece. The snap buttons are solid and secure nicely. The size and fit are true. I am 6' 175# and wear a Large.
