5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 100 lbs
Size Purchased: XS

I was given this product from Backcountry but this review is my personal opinion. The Stoic Fleece Jacket is warm, cozy and good looking. I was relaxing on a restaurant deck in Big Cottonwood canyon after a day of fly fishing and mountain running and needed a comforting jacket that would keep me warm but be appropriate for an upscale restaurant. I immediately received two compliments on the fit and the look of a very cozy fabric. They even asked for specific brand so they could get their hands on one. They were right, the XS fit my curves perfectly (I'm a fit 5' 6" and a small would have been too large). The look is a lovely silky fleece look. I love the deep pockets and cozy collar that is great for nesting my chin. I can't recommend it enough - I'm now buying it as gifts for girlfriends. I wore the jacket again for a Deer Valley outdoor concert and it proved to be all I needed for a chilly mountain evening.

Perfect rain jacket for ski/run
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 100 lbs
Size Purchased: Small

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review Is my personal opinion. I had been looking for a lightweight, water-proof rain jacket for backpacking, running and ski touring and Marmot’s PreCip Eco Jacket is perfect! I wore it on a long ski tour in the Wasatch and was so happy to find that I didn’t over heat during the skin/climb uphill and it was comfortable and kept me warm on the ski down. I also wore the jacket during a run in a spring snow storm in Park City, Utah where the snow was wet and heavy and temperatures were in the 30s – still no sweating and the weight wasn’t an issue. I don’t like bulky/weighty jackets when that active. I’m 5’6” and weigh 100 lbs and the small fit well for the ski tour for layering with my lightweight down coat. I would probably size down to a XP for running since I was only wearing a light layer and it seemed a bit big.

Favorite features include the hood and zip pits. Also, I always love Marmot’s soft fleecy material around the zipper at the chin.

I am not a fan of Gortex jackets due to their stiffness but the Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket is flexible and easily fit into my pack on the ski tour without any additional weight.

I ALWAYS wear black and was really loving the ORANGE color and received a few compliments while skiing USA Bowl up Big Cottonwood Canyon.
