Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My husband and I both got these for our 3 week trip to Europe. We wanted something that we could carry around while traveling, so we wouldn't be loaded down with bags. After a ton of research, I found this pack to be the best option.

It is the maximum liter size that is allowed on airplanes as carry-ons which is great because we didn't want any additional fees from checking bags. They fit in the overhead compartment easily and don't have a ton of external pockets so things weren't getting caught or snagging. While the pack protrudes off your back kinda far, it is a fairly sleek design.

I love how the zipper opens up so wide so it is like a duffel, rather than a standard backpack or top loader. Really easy for me to see everything inside and organize it how I wanted to. There was plenty of room for me to store 3 weeks worth of clothing as well as toiletries, a couple extra pairs of shoes, electronics, and all my documentation. Packing cubes were a huge help for organization.

Having the straps stow away was a lifesaver in Europe. One of the airlines we flew only allowed for smaller carry-ons so they checked our bags at the gate. (European airlines have different carry-on sizes than American) We hurried and stuffed our straps inside the packs so they wouldn't get caught on anything during transfers. There were not torn or broken straps to worry about when we got them back. Since they're able to be stowed away, the hip straps aren't too burly or supportive which means they aren't the most comfortable, but it was worth it and we carried them lots of miles while traveling.

We still use these all the time when we're going on quick trips to relatives or even camping. It's nice to not have to worry about a big suitcase. It also helps keep us from overpacking!

I love these shorts and have the deep blush color (my favorite) and the pine color. Heavy weight shorts feel like they will hold up to outdoor hiking and scrambling wear and tear. I like my shorts long and these are slightly longer (on me) than they appear on the model. They are comfortable and stretch and I've received several compliments. Kuhl is a great brand!

I love this t-shirt!
Here's what I love:
It is long and stays tucked in when I climb.....Very soft fabric....I love the color-not too dark of a blue.....Fits great and not too tight under my arms like some t-shirt.

I just got this rain jacket for my husband who has had an old rain jacket for years that he got from a company he used to work for. He loves this new rain jacket and has been wearing it a lot since we've had a good amount of rain this last week and weekend.

It is totally waterproof and he hasn't had any problem with it holding onto the moisture or wetting out yet. He likes the adjustable wrist cuffs to keep out the water even when he lifts his arms. And the hood cinches down which is so helpful when it gets a little windy.

He hasn't worn it climbing but the material feels durable and like it will be able to hold up against some abrasive sports, like rock climbing. It's also convenient that it stuffs into its own pocket. Perfect for when you just want to throw it in your bag and want to go.

He can wear a medium or a large in jackets and the medium fits him great!

I wore this jacket on a recent trip down to the desert. It was great to keep the light breeze off. It worked great! Cut the wind like it wasn't there. It was also nice to wear because it kept my skin protected from the sun. It didn't make me too hot because it breathed well.

It was nice and stretchy which I loved. I can't wait to wear it on my next climbing trip when it's a little cooler. It offered me free range and I never felt constricted while scrambling around.

I did a lot of scrambling while wearing the jacket and it never snagged or got any rips. It was great to have on since it protected my skin from the sun and abrasions from rocks! I didn't love the feel of the fabric on my skin at first, but I got used to it after a couple minutes.

I usually wear a xs or small in tops and went with the xs. I could have gotten a small if I would have wanted to layer underneath.

This backpack is an incredible option if you're on the lookout for a great day pack. The design of it distributes the weight very well so it doesn't feel so heavy. I also love the breathable, mesh backpanel since I was wearing it down in the desert and it was hot! The backpanel allowed for plenty of airflow so my back didn't get sweaty which is always a plus.

It also has great storage. Plenty of well-placed pockets for everything you could need. We had a good amount of snacks, water, a water filter, dog treats, and a couple of layers and we still had room in there. The side water bottle pockets are stretchy and big enough to hold Nalgenes which is great. The hip belt pockets are also so convenient for snacks so you can eat as your hiking! Or anything else you want easy access to.

Overall, very happy with this pack and made my day hikes even more enjoyable than before!

Great car camping blanket
4 5

This blanket is warm and versatile. We used it on our most recent car camping trip and used it multiple times. We woke up in the early morning to watch the sunrise, and it was so nice to be able to wrap this blanket around the both of us as the day got started. It kept us surprisingly warm and it was definitely large enough to wrap around the both of us, plus our dog. I would say this is much warmer than a typical blanket that we usualy brought car camping.
Our dog slept between us in our tent and we used the blanket just thrown over us and my dog underneath. He slept great and never woke up cold. The blanket itself doesn't seem very durable, like most down products, so we had to be careful our pup didn't walk on it too much so he wouldn't scratch a hole in it. That was a little less convenient than just bringing a regular blanket with us that we didn't have to worry about.

On our last night camping was much warmer than the other nights so my husband decided he would just sleep with the Rumpl blanket instead of his sleeping bag and he loved it. He sleeps really warm and just slept in sweats and a softshell jacket and was plenty warm with the blanket wrapped around him. So it's a great go to lightweight sleeping option.

While the blanket is on the pricey side, it's one of the warmest blankets I've ever used and can be used for a lot of different things. If you are not careful with your gear or have a destructive dog you'd have to worry about, I might consider something else. Other than that though, I think it's a great option!

I got this jacket for my husband for our camping trip down in the desert. He wore it the whole time we were there and loved it! It was perfect because it's not insulated and breathes well, so it was great for warmer weather. It kept the sun off of him so he didn't burn which was great. We did a lot of hiking and scrambling and the jacket held up great. Even after brushing up against thorny bushes and rough limestone, the jacket didn't have any abrasions.

The stretch the jacket offers makes it incredibly comfortable. It doesn't restrict you at all no matter what you're doing. He said he plans on this being his go-to climbing jacket when it's a little windy and he wants to keep the chill off, but still have free range of motion.

It did get a little windy towards the evenings and the jacket cut the wind great. He didn't have to throw on another layer until the temperature really dropped at night. It didn't rain at all while we were there, so not sure how it holds up against moisture, but from the feel of the fabric, it seems like water would just bead up on it and be easily brushed off.

My husband is either a medium or large in most jackets (more often a medium), and the medium fit great! He is 5'7 and 180lb

This is not my first 20 degree sleeping bag, but it is definitely the warmest. I have never slept in a bag that that was so true to its rating. I took this bag out on a camping trip down in the desert this weekend. It got down in the 30s at night while we were camping and I was so toasty. I only slept in a very thin baselayer like I always do, and had to unzip my bag I was so warm. THAT NEVER HAPPENS!

As soon as I crawled in I instantly felt the warmth and it has to cinches to keep heat in. One around the collar, and one around the hood. I love the collar cinch because I kept my pillow inside the hood of the bag, and this can creat a draft around my shoulders. But because the collar cinched around my neck, I was able to keep all the heat inside.

The other thing that shocked me was how a 20 degree bag could compress so small and be so lightweight. I cannot wait to use this on my next backpacking trip this summer because it's going to decrease my base weight by about a pound which is huge. It will allow more space in my pack which is great for when I want to bring an extra luxury item, or just tighten it down a little more and have a more compact pack.

This sleeping bag is incredible and worth the money in my opinion. You won't find a sleeping bag as warm and as lightweight as this one. I can't wait to take it on many more adventures.

I love these shorts! This is the third pair I've purchased. They are lightweight and extremely comfortable. The fabric feels breathable and not too restricting/stiff which I sometimes find in a lot of hiking shorts.

Even though they are lightweight, they are so durable! I have worn these scrambling across red rock, climbing, and hiking and have not gotten any holes in them. I also really like the length. The side zipper is really convenient because I can keep my car key in it while out exploring and I don't have to dig around for it in my pack when I'm done and don't have to worry about losing it either.

While these are intended for outdoor recreation, I think they still look good enough to wear around town. I don't bother going home to change to run errands if I'm wearing these.

I haven't worn them in the rain but I think they'd be perfect if I knew there was a chance I could get caught in the rain on a hike. They feel quick drying and I can't wait to try them on a rainy day hike!
I can either be a size 4 or 6, but the 4 fit me well in these.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am new to trail running and wanted to have something I could carry water in on my longer runs. This belt has been a lifesaver, for me and my dog. The water bottle holds plenty of water for myself, my dog, and even my husband. I'm not looking to drink a ton, just get my mouth wet and this is perfect. The bottle doesn't bounce because of the elastic that secures around the top of the water bottle cap. The angled shape also conforms to your body so it doesn't dig in.

The flap is secured by strong velcro and I usually just slide my phone in there. (It has fallen out when I don't make sure the velcro is securely tightened so be warned.) I doubt this is its intened purpose but it's the only place I can fit my phone and it does the job. I have the iPhone xs and it holds it fairly securely. I wish instead of an open velcro flap, it was a zippered pouch. When you lift up the flap, there is a small zippered pouch that is big enough to hold my car key and maybe a small snack. I don't access it often though because my phone is being held by the velcro.

The belt is a tad stiff but I don't mind that because it keeps everything from bouncing around. It's easy to adjust the length which is nice in case my husband wants to wear it when he goes out. As it is not the women's belt, I feel like it might fit him a little bit better than me since he has narrow hips and it rides up a little on me. Still works well though!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this for my husband after I got my self the Osprey Aura 50L. He liked the idea of the anti-gravity suspension system so decided to try it out himself. He loves this pack and enjoys backpacking with me even more because of it.

He likes the 65L because he prefers having the room if he wants to be a little extra on our backpacking trips. But being able to remove the brain is a helpful option if we're just going on an overnighter and don't need to bring as much stuff. The stretchy pocket is perfect for snacks and rain gear to grab quickly.

He also likes that this packs stays up on his narrow hips well and doesn't hurt his back. His last pack never stayed up so all of the weight would fall on his shoulders. He doesn't have that problem with this pack and is able to adjust the hip belts to his comfort.

He's 5'7 with an average torso and the size small fits him well.

My favorite backpacking pack EVER
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this pack for 3 years now and I'm obsessed. It is incredibly comfortable and has everything I want in a pack, without too many extras. I love that I can remove the brain so if I just want to do an overnighter, I can do lose some of the weight. The anti-gravity suspension system keeps the weight feeling light and disperses it well. The pack sits nicely on my hips and doesn't hurt my back at all.

When it comes to a pack liter size, I prefer to go with a smaller size, hence the 50L instead of the 65. I almost always backpack with a family member or close friend so I typically split weight like tent or cook system. However, If I do need to carry everything, I am able to fit it all nicely. Having a smaller pack forces me to cut down on what I want to bring and just bring the necessities. Really saves me from overpacking which is huge when you're carrying everything on your back. If I had a larger pack, I would fill it with unnecessary gear.

I'm 5'3 with a short torso so the xs fits me great!

I think I may have found my new go-to shorts. These are cute and comfy, but feel nice and durable for hiking or even climbing. I got the 5" inseam and I think it's a great length. I would say the run small, but the Prana sizing seems to be consistent.I am usually a size 6 but am a size 4 in the Halle pants and a 4 in these.

This jacket is incredibly warm and cozy. I wore it while camping in the desert when the nights were really cool. I think it kept me a little warmer than a traditional down coat because the wind didn't cut through a big zipper. It wasn't the most convenient thing to pull on and off, but the size zipper definitely helped! I think this fits true to size, but if you want to layer or not feel at all constricted since you can't unzip it all the way, I'd suggest sizing up.

I got a pair of the women's for myself, and the men's for my husband. I got them for a canyoneering trip that had a decent amount of elevation gain at the beginning. We both loved them! They were comfortable and the higher top offered good support for my ankle. I don't often hike in boots unless I'm backpacking, but I had a good amount of canyoneering gear I was bringing and wanted support when wading through water when I couldn't see the bottom. They were really lightweight and the traction was great. I did feel like they may run a tad big so if you are between sizes, I would consider sizing down.

Worked great for canyoneering

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this pack for my husband and the 30L for myself for our canyoneering trip down in Southern Utah. I got the 45L for my husband and I actually think the larger size was a better option, especially if you're going to be carrying one of the ropes. I did carry a 100ft rope, a wet suit, snacks, harness with gear on it, and water. It was a really tight fit, but worked.

The minimal hip belt is perfect to have when wearing your harness. It doesn't get in the way but still is nice to have when hiking up the canyon before rappelling down.

We were in water where we couldn't touch and the packs were completely waterproof. This was really nice because not only did our stuff inside stay dry, they weren't saturated at the end of the rappels so they weren't any heavier. They also floated which was great. They're super lightweight and nice and narrow. We had to squeeze through some tight spots and they didn't hinder us at all.
