This is a warm jacket and blocks the wind fairly well. It's not like Gortex or nylon that will block the wind completely but it did a better job than other fleece jackets I own. I have worn it in 20-degree weather by itself for about an hour and it kept me warm. I wore it under my moderately insulated ski jacket, while skiing, in zero-degree weather and I got too hot. The hood fits over my ski helmet which is nice but that makes it even warmer. It is very comfortable and I wear it to work and around town on moderately cold days. It is nice looking, functional and definitely worth the money.

I have cold hands and feet due to Raynaud's disease. I just went skiing in these mittens in about 3 degree weather and my hands never got cold. In 50 years of skiing I have never owned mittens that could do that. They are not too bulky to ski in. If it is over 20 degrees they are too warm and my hands were sweating too much. A simple solution is just take the inner liner mitten out. They have a very handy wrist strap so if you pull them off on the chair lift and accidentally drop them they probably won't fall to the ground. I wish I would have bought these mittens a long time ago!
