Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

I’ve used this helmet for Iron distance races and it works great. It is comfortable when the temps are in the 60’s, but the lack of ventilation holes in the front make it a little toasty when the temps rise. As has been noted in other reviews, it has a tendency to whistle. I don’t think it’s the helmet as much as the flock of valkyries who cheer me on when I’m racing. The whistling (or victory trumpets if you will) is really only noticeable when my head is really inclined forward and I’m riding into the wind. It’s not too bad.
The lenses are superb, as Smith optics always are. The colored lens has a gradient to it so that the lower field of view is a little less tinted than the upper field of view. It’s not polarized as best I can tell.
As far as weight goes, it’s not noticeably heavy. The padding inside is adequate if you’re not a profuse sweater or if you’re not using this helmet in Death Valley.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had two pairs of these and have used them 2-4x/wk all winter on the trainer. Initially they were great, snug and supportive, but after one winter's use, the elastic hem has lost most of its grip and they tend to ride up my thighs. The chamois has also become pretty compressed and uncomfortable. As another reviewer noted, for $60 or so, they're a good deal. I would be disappointed if I paid $150 for them. The shoulder straps tend to roll up and cut into my shoulders as well. FWIW I'm 6 foot, 165lb and have used a size large.

This is a great light. The brightness at the highest setting is better than other lights I have owned, including several BlackDiamond headlights. It's easy to switch between lighting modes. Battery access is not hard either, and does not require fingernails of steel. I used it on a Ragnar relay running at night and it stays on your head really well, minimal bouncing and no stops to adjust the tightness of the strap. The only downside is that the light itself tends to dig into my forehead, but this is true regardless of what brand you buy.

I ordered two pairs of these to support hammocks for my kids at our cabin. Despite very aggressive swinging and hammock use, there are no signs of wear. Each package contains 2 slings, which have multiple daisy chain points for securing a hammock. Just make a loop around your tree, and adjust the length to suit by selecting the appropriate daisy chain.
