Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this for work and for personal travel. It's perfect for everyday to and from the office, but where it really excels is for overnight work trips. I travel as light as possible so I usually pack clothes in a duffel backpack, which is why the messenger carry on this bag is perfect for the airport with something else already on my back. It's smaller than most backpacks so I can fit it between my feet vertically giving me more leg room on the plane. Once I get to my destination, i convert it to the back pack and I'm off and running. I am not the smallest person, but I have not run into the issue of having the pack straps being too small.
For personal travel this fits a computer and my mirror-less camera set-up, again allowing for the same versatility called out above. Overall this is one of the best bags I own, and has become my new go-to.

Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 195 lbs

Looks great, is light weight, and is fully capable of hitting some dirt trails. This is the perfect shoe for traveling as it will not hold you back and you won't need to bring back-ups. It breathes really well, and has some support around the heel to make your foot feel secure. My feet have never felt tired after wearing these for a full day.
Be prepared to get asked what shoe you are wearing!!

Have this on a Fuji X-T2, just got done using it for two weeks in Scotland and I can say this makes travel easy. When hiking I could tighten the strap so the camera wasn't bouncing, but could easily loosen it to bring the camera up to take a picture all without stopping. It's light so you hardly know it's there. Love it!!

Scotland Tested

We just returned from 2 weeks in Scotland and these are the boots the wife took with her. She loved them! She has bunions and usually struggles to find a hiking boot that has a comfortable toe box. While these are not wide, they are very generous. She made multiple comments on how nice the toe box was and that she had no hot spots even with a thicker wool sock on.
In the two weeks we were in Scotland we experienced every type of weather imaginable. We hiked in both dry and muddy terrain in the highlands and walked around the cities. That was the reason she selected this boot, it has enough hiking DNA to last out on true hiking trails, but has the appearance of a nice city walking boot. Overall a solid 5 stars!!

I own a few pairs of the Hanwag double stitch boots (Berlger), but this was my first pair of trekking boots from the brand. Truly a burly backpacking boot. I used them on a 3 day backpacking trip through the Rockies of Colorado. Fit is true to size and they are on the stiffer side, offering a ton of support while you're carrying a loaded backpack. We did 30 miles over 3 days and I wore them around for a few days before hand to break them in. Never had a hot spot or discomfort, as the lacing system is designed so you can really lock in your ankle.
If you're looking for a sturdy boot, that will shoulder a load over miles of rugged terrain this is a great option.
