Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I use this jacket to go on walks in the rain. Or to climb a latter to unclog a gutter on the house during a down pore. It has an adjustable hood with a brim that protects the head and neck area. All the zippers are designed to seal up tight to prevent any moisture from leaking in. It does a excellent job of keeping my head and body dry. I like the cobalt blue color and over all styling of the jacket. I'm 5-10 160 and sent back a sz large to get a medium that now fits me perfectly. The only other jacket that might be comparable to this jacket would be a Montane Atomic outdoor rain jacket. In either case you're getting among the very best in the world.

Fell in love with the unique design of the jacket. The two chest pockets and logo really set it apart from the crowd. I got the Blackbird in a large. Its sporty and handsome. I'm 5/10 160 athletic build and the fit for me is near perfect. I use it for hiking , walking and for going around town. These things aren't cheap, but hey Arc'teryx is Arc'teryx.

I just luv the Kiwi/Steele color--cool as hell. This is a really well constructed and very functional down jacket. Its very comfortable and light to wear. It just gives you that instant warmth. I use it to walk in, hike or just to go around town. There are many details large and small that make it special, the large hand warmer pockets, the stitching, the lay out of the collar etc. you get your money's worth. And I especially like the beard guard. I'm 5/10 160 and the large allows me to wear a thin layer fleece jacket if needed underneath in comfort. My only quibble is the European zipper is a bit hard to get started sometimes, though this breaks in over time. To me a Montane is way cooler than owning a Joe Q public The North Face any day!
