Garth Perry's Bio

Live in sunny Brisbane, Australia, which is great for riding trails all year round, but means I only get to the snow a couple of weeks a year.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used to ride with clip-ins, but when I changed from hard tails to a Giant Trance SX, decided to give these a go. I wear 510 shoes, which have great grip, and never have any problems slipping off the pedals, and have found the advantage of being able to make slight adjustments of foot position on the fly to help change my stance on the bike. I use a dropper post on the bike, so constantly changing body position on the bike, but the Saints stay solid. Works well in the wet, as well as dry.

Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 205 lbs
Size Purchased: LX

Having a big head/face makes it hard to find glasses to fit. These have classic frogskins style to fit larger faces. Comfortable and light, and don't look like I'm wearing my kids shades. And they are made with a high quality look, unlike a lot of other Oakley.

I tried on a heap of guards as comfort was important. Found buying a size up fitted better. Really comfortable, and faily light, with good riding position. Can ride in these all day in 100% humidity and get no chaffing. Good coverage. Have the matching elbow guards. Some stitching has frayed, but still keeping shape.

I tried on a heap of guards as comfort was important. Found buying a size up fitted better. Really comfortable, and fairly light, and have a good shape for aggressive stance. Good coverage, and works well to push aside branches on the go. Can ride in these all day in 100% humidity and get no chaffing.
