A must have for thick-coated dogs
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My pub has thick, black fur so summer time presents problems when it comes to keeping her cool. We first used it on a hot summer trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. I dunked the swamp cooler vest in cold water prior to putting it on Kaia so that it would keep her cooler longer. We packed in some miles and she stayed cool. I did make sure to wet the swamp cooler with some extra water I was carrying throughout the day and let her dip into any streams -- you can never be too careful when it comes to overheating! Overall it did it's job -- still keep an eye out overheating, even with this vest on.

This light is little but it's certainly bright! I absolutely love this guy and always take it camping with me. It's small, can dim and the light is nicely diffused (not a harsh light). I use the clips on the lamp to hang inside the tent -- it makes for a perfect reading light and a better alternative to my headlamp when I need to look around the tent at night. Most definitely recommended!

Does what it's supposed to do and keeps your drinks nice and warm/cold. The only thing I'd tell you to watch out for is the cap - or more specifically the cap closure. This guy took a tumble when I tried to carry one-too-many things at once and the little overhang closure broke. It was only a small piece of plastic that flew off but that tiny bit was what kept the snap-lid closed. Now it won't close at all and I have to make sure the bottle is up-right at all times. So just make sure to not drop the bottle or choose a Hydroflask with a different top (i.e. a screw-top lid). Docked a star for that because I prefer a more rugged water bottle.

Great as PJ bottoms, too!

Very warm and very comfortable. I docked a star because, as one reviewer noted, after you wear them for a day they do seem to stretch out a bit. That was a little bit of a bummer, since that meant having to pull them up higher so they don't sag. Maybe I should have gotten a size smaller than my usual size? You can see in the picture that they are saggy in below the knee and in the back. Fresh out of the wash these guys fit like a second skin. When it started to get too warm outside for a base layer I started wearing these around the house as PJ/lounge pants. Very comfy! So far they have also held up in the wash (make sure to dry them flat). I'm not sure how these would compare to SmartWool, but I was pretty happy with this purchase. Not sure if I'd pay $60 for them, though (I got them on sale for $30). They are a little transparent (at least the teal color) and are a little long in length (but I also have short legs).

I heard a lot about these fabled Ex Officio underwear and had to give them a try after hearing all the rave reviews here and elsewhere. I can positively say they are true! I absolutely love these! They are a bit pricey at full price, but well worth the money. Breathable, quick drying and very comfortable. Highly recommended! Just a note that these bikini brief style are not low rise. They aren't too high, either (no granny-panties!).

Want to love, awkward sizing
3 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 130 lbs
Size Purchased: Small

I really want to love this jacket, but it's the sizing that's an issue for me. I initially bought a medium elsewhere, but when I tried it on I was swimming in it, especially in the sleeves. The sleeves were comically puffy on me and ended way past my fingers (maybe I just have short arms?). There is elastic around the wrists of this jacket, but it wasn't tight enough to keep my hands from disappearing and there are no Velcro wrist closures. I returned the medium and ordered a small from here. The sleeve length wasn't too long and everything seemed to fit perfect, with the exception of the back and armpit area. Moving around makes the back a bit tight and the armholes are a bit constricting. If I'm not moving my arms around too much it's fine, otherwise it becomes a little annoying. The fit of this jacket is a bit confusing to me, especially since I fit perfectly into the small of Mountain Hardwear's Downtown Coat. Other than that, I really do like this jacket. It's light and compacts into its own pocket nicely, serves as a great single layer for a cool day and nice as a lower layer for colder days. If it wasn't for the sizing issue I'd give it 5 stars.

Absolutely love this hat!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs large
Size Purchased: Medium

If you can only have one winter hat, this is it. It's super warm and I love that it covers your ears. Its kept my head nice and toasty on the cold Michigan winters. I'm actually going to have to buy another one, since my boyfriend has claimed mine as his own. The ear coverings do block some sound -- you won't be deaf, but it is pretty noticeable. I only wish they sold a size small or sold a women's version, since it is a little bit big for my head.

My niece loves it!

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This is a great little backpack for a 2 year old. Like others have said, it is -very- small. You can fit a few items in there, like a water bottle and a sandwich, some snacks, and a jacket, but I don't imagine you could really fill it more than that. Looks absolutely adorable. And if you were wondering how big 550 cu is, it is the equivalent of approximately one petite-sized cat (Note: No cats were harmed in the making of this review!)
