Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this to replace my bulky thermarest. It is so tiny and light. I even had to let some air out because it was too inflated....it was the best night of sleep in the woods I have ever had. I can see it popping if you let your pups sleep with you in the tent and that would be sad.

Got these to replace my bulky thermarest pad and was blown away by its tiny size and how comfy it was. I have never slept better in the woods! I can see it not being that great if you let your pup sleep with you in the tent but for the 2 legged - it's the best thing you can pack!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used the chest packs before but they were way to bulky. This was a huge upgrade. I can fit tons of stuff, sometimes more than I'd rather carry. When I need to tie on something new, the front zipper pouch opens up and gives me a working platform. There are plenty of places to attach your hemostats and clippers. I debated over this one and the patagonia sling and found the Simms to have way more storage and ease of use.

So I got this bag to keep me toasty, it certainly does that well but if you are planning on packing it in somewhere, not sure where you will put it. It is GIANT, yeah it has a compression pack and does pack down but it still takes up 3/4 of my backpack. Great for the good ol' car camping situations.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

MSR tabs, I pretty much love them. My husband and I just returned from a trip in the Wenaha/Tucannan wilderness. Every few miles we were able to find a spring that had the most beautiful crystal clear water and I just wanted drink right from them but to be safe we added these tabs and to my surprise it taste like we were drinking right from the spring. It was brilliant. We've been using the PotableAqua Tabs only becasue we have a seemingly endless supply of them, but they have this light but always noticeable after taste/smell that just takes the allure out of drinking mountain spring water. I'll never go back. Even if we go someplace that we have to use the pump filter first, I'll still drop one of these in.

I bought this for my husband. First time he thought it may have gotten a little low but he wanted to try it again. He took it out this past week for 4 nights... Flat... Now we're headed on another trip for two weeks and he's sleeping on the ground. HA! MINE WORKS GREAT THOUGH! Kind of bummed because we're just past the return time for the pad, now we have to send it to therm-a-rest. I think in the future we'll be going with a different company. My husband had the really cold weather therm-a-rest when he was living in Alaska, that lasted about a year. He says its the company, I say he needs to drop a couple pounds. Ha! I'll probably be in trouble if he reads this.

So just an update: sent it in to therm-a-rest. Got it back in under 2 weeks. Great customer service. Now just need to try out the repair!
