Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I’m going on 4 years now with my Stinger, and it is simply awesome. Handles like a dream, has held up to a lot of abuse, still super pink, all around freakin rad. The Unicore construction adds a piece of mind for sure when moving over rough rock, or rapping through mixed terrain. The rope freezes up significantly less than a lot of others I’ve used when the ice is dripping. Did I mention that after all this time and abuse it’s still bright pink?

Maybe not the absolute lightest, thinnest, rope out there but it’s not heavy, and has plenty of burl for a thinner rope. Seriously, spend the little bit extra and buy this one, the confidence a good rope brings is worth it.

Bottom line: Have whipped. Will whip again ... and probably again.

Sincerely,
Beal Convert

I've used these leashed many times now, and can say that they work really well. I'm 5'6" and use the short version, and have had no issues with excess length nor do I risk hitting the limit of the leashes extendability.

I personally see very little use for the cordage, and always use the biners.

First off, I love the fit of these shoes. Having some leather around the toebox allows for a little stretch where it's needed. I have a wider forefoot and a narrow heal, so the combo of non-stretchy synthetic in the midfoot, and leather up front was golden. I wear a 8-8.5 street shoe and a 7.5 in these for a tight but not uncomfortable fit.

Now the downside: The rubber of these does not last. I have used these for the past year or so, climbing in the gym occasionally and outside only a handful of times. So in all honesty these have not had a hardcore year of use, and still the rubber is gone at the toe with a nice hole taking it's place.

-Verdict- It's a nicely put together shoe and performs well with very little break in. However, that apparently leads to a shorter than expected life span. I am continuing to use them as gym shoes, but will probably not purchase again.
