Emory Mullis's Bio

Hey, just wanted to give a quick overview of my background and the activities I like to enjoy in the great outdoors. My main addiction is fly-fishing and I have been blessed enough to fish rivers, creeks, and lakes all over the country. Born and raised in Georgia...I have lived there most of my life but I have also lived in Yellowstone National Park for 5 months and recently moved to Utah for my job here at backcountry.com.
Some other outdoor activities that I love include; Kayaking, Backpacking, Camping, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Snow Boarding and anything that gets me outside. Feel free to hit me up if you have any question about these activities or the gear involved with them! I work Phones so give us a call and ask for Emory or email me at emullis@backcountry.com

I have tied a ton of Nymphs on this hook in multiple size. I love the gage of the hook and the wide gab makes for good hook sets. Great for copper johns, scuds, emergers, pheasant tails, you name it.

I reaslly like the cut of this shirt....most XL shirts are way too wide for me but the larges dont have long enough arms. Not the case with this one....perfect length in the arms and torso and doesnt swallow me like a trash bag.
I am 6'1", 190lbs, purchased size XL

Great wading boots

After putting my first season on these I could not be happier. They are light weight and super grippy, can take studs, drain water quick and help you to cover a lot of water. They are a little stiff your first couple wears but they break in and are very comfortable. My favorite part about them is the smaller profile. Other wading boots I have had feel clunky and wide like clown shoes but these feel like you are putting on your hiking boots. Could not be more satisfies.

Girlfriend got a pair of these and loves them. She used them all spring while working as an outdoor therapy guide. The material has just enough stretch and is light weight but still durable. No surprise these are the best selling hiking pants that we carry.

Light weight and compact, this sleeping pad gets the job done. I use it is my hammock to take the chill out on cold night and couldnt be happier. It is a little thin so it might not be the best when sleeping on the ground on the rough stuff but like I said, that was not my intended purpose for it. Very very warm for its thickness.

My girlfriend loves this jacket and takes it with her everywhere. She is a big time hiker and is currently using it in on the 3 passes hike to the Everest base-camp in Napal. On dry days it is perfect to wear on its own and when it gets a little messy she can easily slip her shell over it and stay toasty warm.

This chair is so awesome....just wish I got to sit in it more because my Girlfriend takes it every time we go camping! I guess I am just going to have to get her one too. It is super compact when put away and very easy to set up. Great design that is very durable. I did get a spark on mine the first night I used it so that was a bummer when it burnt through but the little hole has not caused any trouble through a whole summer of camping. A little heavy to justify for long hikes but for easy overnighters, it is worth the extra weight to me.

These are definitely made with a super comfy material but are a little tighter than I usually like my underwear. Next pair I get I will probably size up a little. I use the tighter ones, I have now, for athletic activities where that extra security is appreciated....like a pair of compressions.

Really happy with these shorts. Nice enough to wear around town in the summer but enough tech to wear on the river fishing or hiking. They dry really quick and are light weight. They fit true to size. The lighter colored ones did get a little transparent when wet, so make sure you wear a sexy print boxer!

This is a great little stove and I used it all summer with over 50 nights of camping. I love that you can adjust the temperature and it is so light weight, durable, and compact. It did loosen up a little but was easy to fix by tightening the little philips head screw.

Love these flops! Very comfortable and light weight. I hate when Flip Flops have a high footbed so I loved the thin profile and found them to be shaped well to fit a foot. I wear an 11.5 so went with the 11s....they are a little narrow so if in between sizes I would say go with a size up rather than a size down.

Love this belt and it tends to catch the eye of other fishermen who you can then try to coerce into giving you beta on new fishing spots. Was a little long so I trimmed with a knife and the melted the end to keep it from unraveling. I was concerned that the buckle would not hold tight but I have not experienced this at all. Solid belt.
