Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Not a freestanding standing, as in you need the stakes for the tent to stay up, which is not what I need so I returned it. It was a good price though otherwise and I own another Eureka tent (the two-person) that I do like and would recommend over this one; it's basically the same weight and gives you more room.

Got for boyfriend he say that they fit really well and pretty good pockets (he now has two pairs), good fabric, and generally really likes them. On one of the pairs, the belt loop ripped, but thanks to Patagonia's killer warranty, we just had them fix em, and they're good as new.

you really can't go wrong with chacos. I wear them nearly full time during the summer, hiking, walking around town, socially, and sometimes to work. They're great. I got these to replace old ones that I got, and so far they've been great. These have a different thread than my old ones (I'm not sure what the old ones were), but I only noticed that visually rather than functionally. The webbing is more delicate on these than my old ones. I'm not sure if I just didn't get the right project (does Chaco have different webbing burlynesses?), it hasn't been a problem so far, but I haven't really beat them up like my other ones.

They also fit my foot really well; and I have pretty falt, pretty wide, but smallish (sz 7) feet. The first pair gave me bad blisters the first time I wore them (on the arch of my foot), but that never happened again and didn't happen with these.

So, before getting this pack I was a little worried about all the reviews, but now that I have it I'm really like the pack. That said, I don't live in a very rainy area (Colorado) and I bike anyway, so when it rains, I don't have the problem with the pooling in the pack. I also took the preventative measure of beeswaxings the zippers to prevent any leakage. If you're worried, just get some beeswax from a health food store, and rub it on the zippers, and you're more water resistance.

As for the packs function; its great. I can fit my uggs (short uggs), sneakers, lunch, coffee, water bottle, two outfit changes, and a laptop and charger. I use this on days when I go straight from work to the gym, and on weekend trips for the most part. It is REALLY deep and a little narrow, which can be nice, because I use stuff sacks for internal organization, so my clothes and shoes can be at the bottom and the stuff I want to access is closer to the top.

Improvements I wish I could make: it doesn't sit up by its self very well at all. But not many back packs do. I wish there was a rear or side entry. I wish the laptop compartment was separate from the rest of the compartment. It works fine, but, I love my laptop, and want it as far away from all moisture and food as possible.
