Perfect, Solid, Reliable!
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Highly recommend this tent, especially after it kept me dry during heavy thunderstorms. It's solid and super easy to pitch. I love all the pockets and hooks too. My only wish is that it came with a footprint, but I've never actually found a tent that sells them together. Honestly, you can't beat the price for this level of quality. The zippers and materials are really well constructed and I think the weight is a fair trade-off for the quality. Especially in the long term, this tent is made to last.

GREGORY BACKPACKS!
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is an amazing pack. I love it for weekend backpacking trips (especially during the summer, when you don't need to carry so many layers). It's on the smaller size but it fits all the essentials for a night in the mountains (and saves the weight of bulkier packs). Its the perfect size for mountaineering in the Alps too. I've also used it as a carry on bag for planes haha. Overal Gregory makes a solid backpack. Highly recommended.

SOLID, STURDY, AWESOME
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This tent is built beautifully. Its a tad on the heavier side compared to a few other models but because of that, it is really really solid and should weather storms well. Its super roomy and comfortable inside too. It has amazing ventilation and because of that, it can actually be used in summer (as long as it's not too hot). We have yet to test it in rain though. It was super easy to pitch the tent in crazy winds and it stayed solid all night.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

Weight: 130 lbs
Size Purchased: small

I am 5 foot 3 and ordered a small and these pants fit great. The material is super comfortable, durable and breathable. Literally everything you could want in a pair of hiking pants. They do a great job keeping out the chill of the wind. I love the ventilation zippers too for those really hot days.

Snowshoes are lightweight and super comfortable. All the straps stay tight and they are a tough plastic that works great especially when everything is frozen. They are super easy to take on and off and you can do it while still wearing your gloves. The heal raise comes in handy during steep sections too. Definitely, recommend for any snowshoe trip.

Worth it.

Love my HV UL3 tent and definitely recommend buying the footprint too. It keeps your tent clean but more importantly protects it from stones and other sharp objects that could puncture the bottom. It also adds an extra level of protection when you are caught in the rain. I do agree with the other reviewers that it would be great if it was included, but regardless you definitely want one.

Awesome Poles! Super lightweight

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these poles! Especially because they are super easy to collapse while hiking if you have to scramble up some rocks. I have put them through the wringer and they are super durable. The carbon fiber is super lightweight and makes a difference on long backpack tours. I've also used these poles snowshoeing and they are just awesome.

This sleeping bag is simply perfect. It is pretty lightweight and very warm. Western Mountaineering uses the highest quality down so you really stay comfortable and warm all night. After too many cold nights in my normal sleeping bag, I finally made the splurge and have never looked back. I highly recommend to anyone who is camping in cold temperatures! I also loved that it runs in small sizes because the smaller size saves space in my pack and keep my feet warmer.

Great Pants! Great color
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

These pants are super durable and great for any adventure. They are a heavier weight and I love them for hiking in fall/winter. I am 5'2 and always have trouble finding hiking pants that aren't too long. Love that these come in both regular and short lengths. I am a size 28 in the US and am in between the 36 and 38 EU size. I went with the 38 short and they fit pretty great. I'd always rather my hiking pants have some flexibility versus being too tight.

The MIPS technology is the best on the market. And the safety of your head in an accident is not something to be cheap about ;) Definitely recommend this helmet. It is super comfortable and has vents for cold days / warmer days. I wore it in -10 degrees and my head stayed warm. I always thought I had a small head but when I ordered the small it felt like a child's helmet. Medium fit perfect!

This coat is amazing. I often get a bit sweaty when skiing and wanted a warm layer I could wear and wash (unlike my down puffers). This coat exceeded my expectations. When you first put it on it doesn't seem super warm, but the second you start hiking or skiing it uses your own warmth and really keeps you toasty! I wore it skiing in -10 degrees (with base layers) and was great! It's also great on a day-to-day basis around the city.

I always hesitated to spend so much on a shirt but this flannel is totally worth it. The quality is exceptional and they are so warm, comfy, and durable. I literally wear them hiking and then out to dinner. I have other flannel from different brands and they wrinkle or aren't warm and don't look as good on. The fjord flannel is the real deal.

This is by far the most amazing pack I've ever owned. I love ospray and have a few of their other bags. The new anti-gravity system is a game changer. It distributes the weight really well on your hips and is super comfy. The bag is the perfect size for a few day tour in the backcountry. It also has lots of great straps for attaching tent poles / sleeping pad / snow shoes.

Best backing tent
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tent is just perfect. I find that most ultralight tents sacrifice space to achieve a lighter trail weight. The Big Anges tent is one of the few tents that actually is spacious inside and still super lightweight. It is beautifully built with a lot of attention to detail. There are pockets for all your valuables, a hook for your lantern, small reflective patches on the rain fly (in case you are camping by the road.) The tent is super easy to pitch (even in high winds) and has weathered storms very well. We use the 3 person tent for 2 people just so we have room to keep our bags inside but there are also two vestibules as well :)

I love this lantern. Its perfect for backpacking and we always hang it from the inside of our tent. It can also double as a flashlight. Also, it has adjustable brightness which is perfect for photographers who want to take pictures of a glowing tent at night ;)

My boyfriend loves this hat. I buy him one every few years for the backcountry (that gets sweaty) and another one for every day. He says its really comfortable and durable.

Awesome Winter Tent
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a great tent to use for winter camping. We stayed dry all night and it kept out the chill of the wind. It was super easy to pitch even with gloves on! It was cozy width wise and there is a bit of extra room length-wise. If it's bad weather you could most likely fit your pack at your feet (if you are not too tall.) Overall, I loved this tent! I'd recommend it for high elevations where rain isn't a factor.

This was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have taken this bag all over the world and it has never failed me. It is perfect for a day hike or even an overnight backpacking trip (if you pack light!) The pack is really comfortable and does a great job evenly distributing the weight. It has nice features like an outside pouch for stashing layers, and zipper hip pockets to keep a chapstick or snack. Also, you can't beat Ospreys warranty!

The elastic on my boyfriends hiking pants finally gave way (after 10 years of solid use). This belt was the perfect option to keep his pants from falling down. It's is awesome for hiking because it's stretchy and flexible and won't inhibit your movements. Definitely recommended for anyone living an active life.
