Elise Morgan's Bio

Hey! I am Elise, You can find me from the Tetons to my home here in the Wasatch - Big Cottonwood Canyon. My Doggos keep me motivated to get outside as they are the best outdoor companions a girl can have. I have been skiing for 20 years now and climbing for 11, they are my two biggest passions. I especially love setting up women's ski kits whether its a technical backcountry touring kit, All mountain, Or anything in between. I love it all. Spreading my knowledge of skiing and climbing with other women and motivating them to get outside is also one of my biggest purposes which is why I am here at backcountry and I am happy to share with all of you!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Communication is key in any relationship - my relatinship with the backcountry is no different. Which is why I upped my kit with the Backcounty Access BC Link 2.0. An updated version of the original Link we all love, I know I can count on the Link 2.0 Radio to be better, faster and stronger to keep up with me this touring season.

I was expecting a really cute tank I could wear in the summer with my favorite sports bra, but instead, I got a baggy tank top that basically just looks like I put on my boyfriend's muscle tank. Pretty much just a really baggy cheap dress which looks nothing like it does on the Model. She must be extremely tall or something? I got the XS - I am 5'3 and 125 lb's and it comes down to middle thighs and sags at the top. Even on one of my taller girlfriends it still looks like insanely large..

My go-to jacket for throwing under my ski shell on the colder days or as stand-alone piece ski touring and running around town. This breathable, Four-way stretch jacket has easily become a staple piece in my day to day life. Not to mention, this had made spring skiing so much easier when trying to figure out what to wear. Not too hot and not too cold, serving as my dream transitional piece for all seasons this year! It has definitely earned its place here in the Wasatch.

OK - Let me start this review by letting you guys know (as I am sure you already do) I have a million fleece jackets, I am extremely picky with clothing and everything down the material and zippers need to be perfect for my long every day excursions in the backcountry. Not one of them compares to the West Slabs Fleece Jacket. If I could choose one "do it all" fleece this would be it. I never leave my house without this jacket and is easily a staple piece of mine.

I have worn this on long ski days, Shoveling snow off my car when it dumps here in the Wasatch, Climbing gym sessions, And to the office/city right after and it never even looks (or smells) phased what so ever! This thing is bulletproof while keeping warm and my temperature regulated. I also have dogs and the material is not clingy so the dog hair does not stick to it and wicks moisture away like a dream.

It is also very hard to find products that fit me how they should because of my body build (Athletic build 5'3 124lbs) - especially fleece jackets. They end up either being too tight to where I look like a child, or too baggy with too much extra material. I am impressed by how this jacket fits me it is extremely spot on. It's actually flattering! We gotta look cute no matter what and where AMIRIGHT?!

I have been living in the West Slabs Fleece for the past few months and will continue to do so, uhmmm, probably forever.

I love this tank! I only choose pieces of clothing I can use for multi purposes and this tank nailed it. All of the colors are amazing and the material is super nice and breathable. The neckline may come a little lower for shorter women who are tiny like me! (5'3 - 124lb's with a short torso) - So keep that in mind while choosing a size. I got a S originally and sized down to an XS. Great tank for everyday wear and can easily go from the gym to hit the town and still look great throughout the day.

I really love all of the Frye products but something is really off with these pants. They run small. I am always a true size 26 and I couldn't even get these past my butt! Other than that I am sure these are amazing and I will need at least two sizes up! I have a very athletic build so maybe that's why? Frye! I am not twiggy! Going to purchase the 28's and then they will be perfect!

I love this cami! I have worn it once and can already tell it is going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe! It is tight fitting and goes a little past my belly button so it is very cute with mid or high waisted pants. I have a very short torso because I am tiny so it might fit differently on other women. I am very happy with this though! I love the material! I need one in every color now...

I just got another pair of these. BUT - I got the Rustic Black color this time and they look nothing like the picture? They honestly look like a Midnight Blue but since I've already worn them I will keep them.. I am going to try and put leather conditioner on them to make them more black.. Pretty sad about it actuallly.

So, I am not quite sure why everyone is saying these run small, in my experience, they are very true to size. I will admit sometimes Backcountry can be a bit off size or not always true to size so I ended up ordering a Medium in these and after wearing them realized that they are too big. They do have a great drawstring so they do not fall down but I definitely should have gotten a small. They are a great layering piece for under my ski shell pants for the cold days so I ended up keeping them! Will probably end up getting a small as well! Great tights!
