Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs large
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 215 lbs
Size Purchased: 11.0

I purchased these shoes for a combination of work and hiking. They broke in quickly and are quite comfortable. One of the particular things I like is that the shoe seems to hug tightly right over the balls of your feet. The tightness is similar to a toe box on mountaineering boots in the way it makes you feel your toes will not hit the front. Kicking the front of the shoe against a hard object will for the most part keep your toes from touching the front, however, nowhere near the protection given from backpacking boots/mountaineering boots but given the light weight and drastically different use, I am still very pleased. I also like the fact that to tighten this shoe once fitted, requires just the slight tug from the top lace and you don't need to tighten each lace going up. This makes them quick to put on. They also fit my wide feet. They do seem to fit a little large as I am always a 11.5 and I bought the 11.0 they fit great. I am 6'3" and 215 lbs.

Fit: True to size

Great shoe. I have wide feet and this accommodated perfectly. They went through a Tough Mudder, and endless trail runs. I also used it as a daily wear, work shoe, and for hiking. The shoe breathes really well and you dont have to worry about perspiration more than any other shoe. They finally broke on me at the loop for the lacing, cant be fixed I am guessing.

Hot and hard, but a good boot

I have owned this boot for about 6 months and put many miles on it. The soles have never really softened up so I would recommend an insert. Being water proof, your feet will get warm in the summer. Ideal conditions would be 35-60 lbs of pack weight in 25-60 degree weather.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~2 year update~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having owned these now for two years, I want to give an update. These boots have been excellent both in cold weather with snow shoes down to about 5 degrees F. They also do great in very muddy conditions, and wet rock thanks due to the sole. The sole itself is barely showing any wear and is lasting a VERY long time for me as I tend to be hard on shoes.
Speaking of wear, only two areas are showing signs of failure. The stitching along the outside front, and the back heel area. The back heel area is coming apart from the bottom and leather due to what seems like rotting of the material. If not for this problem, they would likely last long enough to be re-soled (2-5 years out still in terms of sole life). However, the problem seems to be situated to get worse. Whatever foam they used between the sole and the shoe leather is definitely the weakest part of the shoe. I would guess with moderate use that these will be usable no more than 5 years before complete failure, making them not the best shoe in terms of toughness.
The shoe did eventually break in fully. It is still completely waterproof, and supportive.
Overall, good boot, but it doesn't seem destined to last keeping it from becoming a lifetime favorite.
I have used this for far more than just a trail running shoe. I have ran on pavement, played volleyball, ran a Tough Mudder, and hiked with it plenty. It is a great all around shoe. The shoe makes a good solid back portion for stability and the sole is quite grippy while having a long life.
