Spring Dream
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 125 lbs
Size Purchased: med

Light and easy to condense. Worked well in desert climates against hail, rain and high winds. The hood easily fold into itself, and could be quickly accessible for sudden rains. Perfect for layering for various weather conditions. Cute enough to wear in public during light rain/wind, functional enough to take camping/hiking. Great all around spring jacket!

An Overpackers Dream- DAKINE SEEKER 24L
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Hiked the Grand Canyon north rim to south rim day hike which recommended at least 3 liters of water to go the 24 miles. I picked the Dakine Seeker because it was the largest hydration pack with the biggest water reservoir. It held plenty of clothes needed for the varying weather conditions and a solid amount of food. Regardless of my over packing it felt light on my back and hips. The mesh liner kept my back cool, dry with minimal chafing. The straw has a magnet which kept the tube from swinging around and in place for quick access at all times. Multiple pockets made snacks, sunglasses, sunblock and other small items easily accessible. The pro and con of this bag was that the water bladder rested in the bottom section which; on the plus side it situate in the most efficient part of my back to keep the pack from feeling heavy, and I never had to worry about it being puncture or damaged by anything else in my pack. As a con i had to remove items out of the main space to fill the bladder. Luckily it’s so large I only did this once. Overall the pack was great! I highly recommend it for a long day hike.
