Definitely not waterproof

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got this tent on a crazy good deal for $122. Fits two people, two packs, and a golden retriever perfectly. It is lightweight and so easy to set up. The mesh does keep all bugs out. The vents at the top are horrible and do not help airflow one bit. We were sweating all night so we took the fly off the next night and condensation filled the tent in the morning. The third night it rained. Now, we did not get wet, but the condensation on the inside was still unbearable. The walls at the bottom of the tent didnt keep groundwater out either. My feet and head were wet in the morning. Glad I didn't pay full price for this, and I wish I would have went against what the gearhead said to buy this and gotten the North Face Stormbreak instead... I guess you get what you pay for even though this tent retails at $278. Next time I will spend that for a tent that can hold up in weather for only 3 nights. I can only imagine what would have happened if I used this tent on longer trips like I had originally planned.
