I like these better than sandals at the campsite! If I ever anticipate the need to cross streams/water above my boots, I'll take sandals instead. The tread on these make it a little difficult to remove dirt/mud/debris. Overall, great buy, though!

I have a 1996 Gregory Wind River 92L still in like new condition and this cover works great - it even covered my self-inflating 25" mattress strapped on the bottom/back. For those concerned, I only use about 62-72L of the available 92L in this pack. :-) I love this pack and will have it forever!

I haven't noticed any real difference between these and my first pair of snowshoes I purchased 10+ years ago - Tubbs that were about 2/3 the price of these MSRs. Maybe I'll notice a difference if/when I get onto steep hard packed/icy conditions. In soft or very deep snow (even on inclines) I haven't noticed any difference with these - nothing remarkable.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 150 lbs
Size Purchased: Small

The front of the collar/hood came up to my nose and covered my face - not what I expected or want - so I returned it, otherwise this jacket seemed awesome! I normally wear Small jackets/shirts, but this Small was unusually tight on me (even for a slim fit jacket). If you normally wear small, buy this in a medium.

Great fit. Very often pants are too long for me these are slightly too long, but when they're clipped at the bottom to my boot laces the little bit of extra length is nice when stepping high over stuff. First Norrona product I ever purchased and love them - so far used for snowshoeing. Also, recently purchased a Norrona heavy duty pant and they also are fantastic!

This top does not breath or wick moisture nearly as well while hiking and working up a sweat as a similar SmartWool top I have. Glad I got a good deal on this because it's just ok. Prob won't purchase anymore Icebreaker base or mid layer tops because SW is much better!

I have found SW tops/bottoms to breath and wick moisture very well - better than Icebreaker, so I will prob not purchase anymore IB and stick with SW. Sleeves on this shirt were a little long for me, but no big deal. Super soft and comfy, great weight/warmth as a base layer with no mid layer under my soft shell jacket hiking in 35-55F temps!

These socks are super thick and feel amazing to the touch. I bought them for my brother in MO who hunts in cold fall weather. He hasn't used them yet, but I suspect he'll love them - as long as he can still get his feet in his boots! These socks are super thick! Worst case, he can wear them lounging around his house in the winter.

I flew my mom to Seattle from Minnesota for a visit and wanted her to not only see more of the beauty of the Pacific NW, but also for her to experience it - so I bought her her first pair of hiking boots. She immediately said the fit felt great whether she had on thin or thick socks, felt nothing rubbing her feet wrong on the inside of the boot, said they felt great when I took her on 3 short hikes. I'd give them a 5-star rating if we/she had actually been able to put the Goretex to the test. She's going to wear them as winter boots in MN - and will bring them with her when she visits me again in Seattle!

Tried them on at REI before I ordered them here and the fit was fantastic - felt like they were tailored to the shape of my foot. Then ordered them from Backcountry and wore them around the house for several hours a fews times with very thin socks to see if anything inside the boot would rub my foot wrong - notta! I've now hiked about 10 miles in them and they feel great! I like the feel of a "real" boot even for day hikes. Although these are considered backpacking boots, I'd recommend them even for day hikes! I have not tested the GoreTex yet for waterproofness, but the fit, traction, stability, ankle support, and fit are great! These are replacing my 18-year old Vasque Clarion GTX which have been fantastic boots - they're still waterproof, but there's not much tread left on them. :-)
