The sk8-hi has always been one of my favorite Vans shoes. They're comfortable, warm, and the suede stands up to abuse for quite a while. Normally I go black on black, but this time I opted for yellow and I'm quite pleased with them. They run maybe a little large but not large enough that my foot slides around in them.

This thing is loud, and the sound quality is great for as small as it is. I haven't charged it since I bought it last week and it's still running on the factory charge so the battery seems pretty decent too. The chaining feature is really cool, I hooked it up to my stereo and it sounded great. My only gripe thus far is it's a little buggy when I try and use the buttons on the face. It will skip ahead, change the volume, pause or play when pressing different buttons. It's hard to say if this is due to my phone, which is admittedly a little old, the auxiliary cable, or the chip in the speaker itself. It doesn't bug out if I don't use the buttons on the face, so I just control it from my phone now and enjoy the sound quality.

I recently got a pair of these to replace my old hikers, which fell apart prematurely and left something to be desired when scrambling. I generally run a little wider than normal in the feet and Scarpas fit me perfectly across the board. I've had a few days wearing them casually and an afternoon doing some good scrambling over sandstone in them and am thoroughly pleased. The construction seems sturdy (they resist abrasion very well), they grip well, and they're great to walk in. If they hold up at all like my Zodiac Pluses, I'll still be a big fan in a few years.
