Somewhat unexpectedly I was gifted this layer, Being a geek for gear I Immediately started seeing what It could do. the most striking features right off the bat were the unbelievable DWR finish that beaded snow and light rain and even worked in heavier rain events rushing out of a crag or between classes. The next most noticeable feature was the hood with a helmet wearer in mind. Often times I see "helmet compatible" hoods that fit a helmet, but doubles as a neck brace. The Atom LT actually makes it comfortable to wear a helmet and a hood which was a welcome surprise. The jacket works best above or around the 30 degree Fahrenheit mark especially when its dry when you're moving around. Below that you definitely need to be exerting a lot of energy but the atom was definitely designed for it. I love the tapered athletic fit body and shoulders because it is stylish and sleek stand alone, and it also fits perfectly below other layers which is a must for colder weather or activities that require you to be stopped for a long period of time. The Atom's performance is definitely mitigated by strong wing where a strong breeze will cut right through the underarm fleece panels, but is easily avoided by an additional layer or a hard shell jacket. In conclusion, this jacket is great for helmet wearing folks and high output activity, but it also works great for a mid layer in colder conditions or foul weather

I find myself going to the wall and hiking in first thing in the morning and leaving late in the afternoon only removing my helmet when I get to my car. The wall rider is super light and doesn't move around on your head but it also doesn't feel like it's going to split apart with the first big impact. I have about 20 days on this helmet so far and would definitely recommend it to anyone that's going on longer climbs/trips and wants all day comfort

After Owning I/O's for a Few years and needing to replace the lenses a friend offered me some cash for my I/O's, Using this I bought IO/7's which at first seemed like just an Aesthetic upgrade... I was dead wrong. To start the Frame was larger yet not bulky like some goggles and allowed for a larger FOV then the I/0 which I loved, I didn't notice a real speed increase to the lens change out but streamlining the lens change option to having only one real tab to move is nicer when you're trying to change lenses on the go. The mellow curve of the IO/7 fits amazingly with Smith helmets, as well as the POC receptor which was a nice touch considering i didn't own a smith helmet. The outriggers that allowed the goggle frame to sit at a different angle than the strap helped keep the top of the frame flush to your head and also to prevent it from bumping into the brim of your helmet. Overall my opinion is if you're looking to upgrade or just looking for a More comfortable Goggle, pick the IO/7

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Well my ski season is just kicking off so I just have a few initial impressions on the helmet, so to start the helmet runs a bit tight but as most helmets do the soft foam will pack out. the tightness of the helmet isn't uncomfortable in anyway just noticible. The actual finish of the helmet is ultra glossy and looks like it belongs in a museum but sadly it appears to show scratches and fingerprints really easily which isn't a big deal but it could be better with a matted finish. In the box you get a basically useless goggle clip which is removable anyways so thats no big deal, a microfiber helmet bag (like the ones you see for goggles), a series of pamphlets on RECCO and MIPS and a bag with a replacement MIPS pin set and a helmet fit kit. The neck roll is very comfortable and comes with a RECCO reflector installed, which is a nice touch. The MIPS system, is noticeable right when you pick it up because if you press against the outer or inner shell you can notice the shells slide just a bit. obviously in a bigger shock the foam pin would break causing a larger shift reducing impact. overall the helmet is great but ill be looking at doing a more in depth review as the season goes on and PS the helmet fits great with Smith I/O's

I bought the Dimension jacket for the waterproofing and insulation and the first two times i needed to use the jacket tested just that. day one it was dumping snow until morning when it flipped to rain. not willing to drive 5 hours south back home we stuck through 7+ hours of skiing in varying amounts of rain from a light drizzle to a downpour. the waterproofing worked well enough that water did not reach the inner layers other than in the sleeve near the hand. waterproofing i would give it a 8.5 out of 10. day two we left early morning for opening day at a mountain the morning consisted of being in the shadow of a mountain where it was 3 degrees the jacket held in heat surprisingly well once you started moving and worked sufficiently well before that. however one thing that bugged me was that dirt had the tendency to work its way into the herringbone stitching and would require a wash or two to get it all out. other than that i would strongly recommend this jacket for skiing
