Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought the medium wide pad instead of the bigger one and it fits my 5'10" 155lbs frame prefect. I've use it tent and car camping and would not have it any other way. The pad fills up almost the full amount in warmer temps and is super easy to inflate with the hand pump in colder temps. It only fills about half way in colder temps but then again I'm impatient and don't let it sit up long. I will agree that leaving it out and inflate valve open at home when not in use definitely helps it pop up to full expansion when camping faster. Stash it behind a door or under your bed. You can dial this thing in to whatever stiffness you like and honestly it's almost better than my bed at home! I actually took two accidental naps on it when I first bought just trying it out. It's pretty durable but I wouldn't go around abusing it (too damn expensive!). I've never had to patch it (comes with several patches and glue) and I've thrown it straight on the ground more than a few times in a pinch. The stuff sack is very nice and super convenient to put away and tote around with.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used this tent for two years solid now. Meaning almost every weekend and occasionally several times during the week when I can swing time off. It's easy to set up (usually in five minutes or less). You can set it up alone no issues. It's a good size for two but even better when it's just me. All my hiking/climbing gear inside with my megamat is no problem. I love the double sided doors that double as huge windows. I also like the solid walls with top screen windows. It lets me have privacy if the fly is off but still have that sky view. Speaking of the fly, it's awesome. It'll handle heavy wind gusts and provide extra "dry" storage if you have extra gear outside. I've survived several strong storms in it with no leaks, still! My one grip is condensation. It does build up if you've got the windows zipped up and fly on. You can unzip the door windows and that will help tons.

I'd definitely buy again.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this for sport/trad climbing with hiking/backwoods camping also in mind. I'm glad I did! This thing is massive! The back access to the main compartment is amazing. Such a breeze getting gear in or out without having to unload the whole pack. It's really what sold me on it lol. The standard mammut "head" pocket is huge. Great for snacks or other little things. Plus you get a decent size mesh pocket on the underside as well. The front face pocket is good. It's long and can hold decent sized objects. Anything you stash in there will take up more of the room in the main portion though. Which really isn't that much of an issue with the added compression straps. The daisy chain is a nice touch and the ice axe carriers double for a stick clip or walking stick holders when not in use. The padding is comfortable on the shoulders and back. It's firm padding but with time it will soften up a bit.

All in all it's a solid pack, that can carry a ton of crap for any activity. Add a discount to this and your set.
