Just what I needed
5 5

I just bought my first dslr camera recently and needed a bag. I wanted a bag that matched my style for sure. I didn't want a huge photography bag since I only have a camera and two lenses. This bag met expectations.

Build:
The fabric and zippers are very high quality and durable. The pockets and organization is very well thought out. The bag looks great if you like the "outdoor" look (sorry I don't know how to express my style.

Security:
The bag holds my camera very securely and nothing has ever moved or taken an impact.

Space:
I have a dslr with two extra lenses in the lower compartment. My gopro and HD video camera are in the top compartment. I could probably still fit a small tablet in the top section. Of course all wires, chargers, and other accessories are in the bag as well.

I recommend this bag if you are a photographer with a dirt bag snowboarder style.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 200 lbs
Size Purchased: 9

I have wanted a pair of Hestra mittens every since I tried a pair on at REI two years ago. A few colors of these were on sale and I finally got my chance.

Fit:
I found the sizing for the mitten is on par. I measured up for a size 9, and the size 9 fits my hands perfect. HOWEVER, the wrists on this model is quite small. I really struggle to get my hands through the opening, but once on they are perfect. The Hestra fall line mittens I tried on in size 9 did not have this issue. Unfortunately, this mittens will eventually fail at the wrist for me since it is such a strain to get my hands through them. This might be just me though, I have very large hands but very short fingers.

Ergonomics:
I have been snowboarding since 1998. These are the best feeling mittens I have ever put on my hands from an ergonomics standpoint. I've always loved the gloves inside of mittens feel though. Inside normal mittens there is chaos and disorder, fingers are flying everywhere!

Build quality:
So far I can not knock anything on the build quality, they seem solid.

Look:
They look like boxing gloves! Awesome!!!!

Tip:
Oil/wax your leather gloves and mittens. If you take care of them they will last forever and take care of you. If you neglect them they will get you wet and cold fast.

Bulletproof
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Summary:
Do not cringe at the price of this bag; this bag will last you forever. The material/fabric is very thick and rigid. The bag I almost rubber coated on the outside making it fully water proof. The zippers are crazy big! These must be the biggest zippers I've seen on anything. It has enough internal pockets to provide organization but is not overwhelming. Some of these bags have so many compartments you can lose your stuff, I hate this. $ or 5 ways to carry the bag. I just keep grabbing for this bag for every use. So Far it is my daily gym bag, my airport luggage, my snowboard bag.

I want some of the other sizes for other uses!

I've used these once. They kept me warm.....until they got soaking wet. I am not sure what I expected from leather gloves, but I did hope they'd last longer.

Have not taken them out since.

Fit: Runs large
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 200 lbs

Size:
I purchased a large in these instead of my normal XL. Great recommendations from reviewers because large was the way to go.

Fit:
These are a very baggy fit style pant. Make sure that is what you like before you order.

Function:
I have taken these on many trips but my first demonstrates it's performance. I took these pants to a weekend trip to Lutsen with my family in February. During the trip we had a blizzard but were insistent on getting to the mountain. Most of the day we were lucky if we could see 50 ft in front of us, often we couldn't even find the lift. The snow was very large, wet, and heavy. The snow would melt as soon as it landed on you. Everyone in my family got soaked to the bone within an hour. I destroyed a brand new pair of snowboarding mittens it was so bad. This pants kept me dry the entire day with no sign of failing. They have venting on both sides of the leg to cool down, it is not common to find this. Tons of "polymer" reinforcement in areas that commonly fail on snow pants.

Quality:
The quality is outstanding.

I've been snowboarding for almost 20 years and have never owned better pants. Will buy these again when I need new ones.

I think the jacket looks great and feels good. I purchased it because I got a good deal through steep and cheap. I question how long the jacket will actually last compared to some of my nicer coats.

Size:
I normally wear an XL jacket or shirt and this arcteryx jacket was no exception.

Fit:
Jacket has a great athletic style fit to it. This jacket is notably larger than my arcteryx beta AR. However, it is meant to be. This is supposed to be part of a layered system. It provides plenty of space for this. The namesake sidewinder zipper feels very good when zipped to the top. If you try to leave it partially unzipped it feels odd; you will find yourself trying to straighten the jacket, even though it is on straight because it doesn't feel quite right.

Function:
I have taken this on many trips but my first demonstrates it's performance. I took this jacket to a weekend trip to Lutsen with my family in February. I destroyed a brand new pair of snowboarding mittens it was so bad. This jacket kept me dry the entire day. Near the cuffs it has a "damp" look which indicates the DWR had failed, however the next goretex layer held strong and no moisture went through. The photo is in the lift from this trip.

Quality:
The quality is outstanding. The coat feels great. The zipper feels super solid. I have no fear anything will fail. If it does, it is covered by a lifetime warranty.

Cost:
I can not personally tell you if a $800 jacket is right for you. You can get them cheaper at the end of a season. However, this jacket is a high performer and has a lifetime warranty. You should not NEED to buy another jacket ever again. Really how much more technology than goretex pro will you need?
