Familiarity: I've used it several times
Just started trail running and purchased these along with Inov 8s EXCELLENT lightweight gore Tex boots to cover carrying lightweight gear.
They are absolutely one of the lightest trail shoes I've ever held, let alone wear. The sole on these is brilliant - most of my runs/ hikes are in areas here in Western Massachusetts where there's much trail debris (pine needles, moss, etc) that give your standard trail shoes fits! Not so with these - they cling to just about any trail, regardless of the surface. Just be aware that they do feel a bit odd if you're just trekking to the store(they're similar to my old football cleats, just with shorter "nubs"), due to the sole.
I wear a size 9.5 Medium or narrow and these fit absolutely perfectly out of the box. Plus, due to the lacing system, they don't shift while you're running. I also appreciate the bump stops on the toe box and heel- they've kept stubbing toes to a minimum.
Also, they breathe very well and dry quickly, once they do get wet.
