It hurt to buy this in terms of $$$, but it's one of those things you let yourself do ever so often. I'm stoked about this jacket, it has a great set of attributes I love combined: virgin wool, covered with tin cloth. I like the idea that I can wax the top cloth to be water resistant, but still have air flow through the wool. I can also lift things on my shoulders without worrying about pulling out the knitting on the whool... just an overall super sturdy jacket. It's a bit stiff because of it's sturdiness, which means it doesn't form fit to your body until you wear it lots and break it down... which means that air can go up your spine a little, so if you're looking to keep warm, don't skip on that medium "filler" layer on cold days. I'm 5'11" and weigh 165 lbs. I got the size Medium. It fits perfectly with just enough room for a light mid-layer which is what I need. If you're bigger/thicker than me, I'd go one size up so you can still easily fit your mid-layer under it.

I bought this hat because, though I had the same style already, the one I had blocked my hearing too much and it just bugged me, plus this one looks more natur'istic. This hat is Very comfortable, hugs the head right, and no weird tight spots. I got a size Large and it felt true to size. There are hearing flaps to un-block hearing... they slightly work, so they help, though the difference is not drastic. Due to the fabric even when the flaps are closed, I can still hear better than I could with my previous hat, so having the flaps up is just a little bonus hearing. Otherwise I just keep them closed.

Build and quality is great. I totally recommend.
