What's great about the R1 is the multi-seasonal use. The R1 is light and warm which makes it super packable. It's great for colder summer nights, chilly Autumn/Spring days and a great underlayer for those Winter days. For me its a great underlayer for skiing because it is light, warm, and really breathable. I bought a XL and its a great slim fit. Perfect in the arms but I prefer the torso length to be a bit longer. As an underlayer the torso fit is good. This is a high quality item you can use year round. The only problem is now that I have one, I need 6 others for every day of the week.

What more can I say that hasn't already been stated. Patagonia does not mess around when it comes to baselayers, especially the Capilene. I wear these daily for skiing whether its a cold day in the negatives or a warmer day in the 30's. For the amount of warmth these have, they are super lightweight and comfortable. The fit is perfect and not too loose or tight.

I got this to use as a mug and I wasn't thinking when it said 32oz that this is the same volume as a normal nalgene water bottle. I didn't return it because I know I can use it for some camping trips to make large amounts of coffee for friends and storing food. I really like the removable cloth insulating sleeve and handle. Super simple and lightweight.

This is the only sock I want in my ski sock quiver. The light cushioning is perfect for foot to boot contact. If you get a sock with too much cushion it is much harder to activate your foot bed and therefore your ski boot. Excellent moisture wicking properties and can be worn multiple days in a row.

If you plan on staying in a tight budget for touring with this skin will work fine. Unfortunately when the climbing gets steep I find it hard to find good grip on the skin track. On untracked snow, there is slightly better grip on the steeps. As for fair pitches and lower angle climbing the skins work fine. I would not recommend this skin for long travel either because the glue is not the stickiest out there either. Recommended use would be for lower angle climbing and shorter duration. If you need stronger skins check out the Black Diamond Ascension Skins or Voile Ski Skins.

I got these shorts well before summer to get a head start on my quiver of kayaking/chilling clothing. I have only used these in a hot tub so far and they are super comfy. I can tell they will be great for summertime when I am kayaking or swimming. More updates to come.

I have a 38in waist and the XL fit me well.

I use this shell primarily in bounds at the center of the powder skiing universe (Alta, UT). I personally have not used this for touring yet but have done hikes at Alta and other resorts that require a little bit of uphill action. This jacket has excellent venting but is still a super warm shell due to its 2 Layer Gore-Tex layering. If you plan on touring with this you may not like it for warm spring days but more in colder/windy/stormy conditions. Excellent waterproofing! Gore-Tex really holds up to all your needs to keep you dry. On those storm days when it is constantly dumping, having the right waterproofing can make or break your day. Currently I have the men's Flylow Baker Bibs to match this outfit and their waterproofing does not hold up as well as Gore-Tex (these bibs are still amazing BTW). I would highly suggesting getting the matching Patagonia powder bowl pants or other similar products to stay ultimately dry.

As for fit, I am 5'11"/200 lbs/38in waist and ordered the large. The large works well when I am not too layered. Fortunately with the shell being pretty warm I do not have to layer too thickly in the Wasatch Mountains. If I lived in a colder climate such as Montana, I would have went with the XL for additional layering. I also run pretty warm when I ski so for me I have an issue with over layering. The most I will probably ever wear under this jacket is a thick base layer (Under Armour 3.0), Sherpa Polartec mid weight fleece, and Patagonia Nano Puff. Normally this will get me pretty overheated so I only wear this on the coldest days with no uphill action.

I like these for general hydration purposes and while I'm being reasonably active like going skiing. I think these would be great during mountain biking as well. I have tried a lot of different hydration methods and these are one of the best and most convenient options out there.

These hydration tabs rock! I really like how Nuun has a number of different styles for different activities. I enjoy having one of these in the afternoon during a tiring ski day. For the convenience of having a pocket sized tube of really good electrolytes Nuun has it dialed in. I find these to have about as much caffeine a half cup of coffee. Take these ski touring and biking!

I cant say enough good things about osprey packs, I own 3. This pack is no exception. the quality is unbeatable for how inexpensive this pack is. I have yet to go for a tour with this pack but I have skied this pack in bounds a number of times. It skis so well, very little movement while its on my back. and all the buckles are fairly easy to use with gloves on. It has plenty of room for day tours here in the Wasatch. I would have no problem keeping a shovel, probe, extra layer, full bladder, and a two course lunch in this bad boy. I love it! Cant wait to get this pack in the backcountry!

I got these boots for a family member of mine who is a police officer and has plantar fascia, here is what he has to say:

I have worked as a police officer for over 18 years and recently purchased these boots for work through the winter. They are extremely comfortable and keep my feet warm/dry. For years I have suffered from feet and leg pain. With these boots I have noticed a significant difference in fatigue which allows me to work several more hours on my feet without discomfort. Thanks Salomon!

I got this shoe for a family member of mine who has planter fascia and here is what he said:

These have been the greatest pair of shoes I have worn in my life. They are so comfortable on my feet and I am finally able to walk after suffering from bad plantar fascia in both feet. These shoes have made a big impact on my recovery, and I have been wearing them during my aggressive therapy training.

I got these for a good friend of mine worthy of some new bibs and here is what she has to say:

"I have been wearing my Volcom Aria Bibs 4 days a week for the past month. I love them! I am 5'8" and 175lb and I ordered an XL. They are the perfect fit as I can move around in them and fit an extra layer for colder days as they are not insulated, but they still maintain a cute silhouette. They are nice and long, which is good for me! We haven't had much weather in Utah so far this season, but they have kept me dry in the storms we have had. I love the pockets in the front, I only wish they were a bit bigger! Either way, that's my only complaint! I'm so excited to have some cute Gore-Tex bibs that are fashionable and functional."

I got this as a Christmas gift for my sister and here is what she has to say:

This has been one of the best parkas I have ever owned. For someone who always runs cold, through most of the winter it has kept me comfortably warm with plenty of room for extra layers. The color looks really nice as well and sizing feels pretty accurate. Another benefit is all the convenient pockets for all sorts of accessories.

Just look at that top sheet graphic! I mean wow - the Corvus could be one of the most beautiful skis out on the market right now. But lets talk about how it actually skis. Black Crows is based out of Chamonix, France so of course this ski rips the big mountain lines. I'm using this ski at Alta, UT where it slays pow, dances through the trees, crushes through bumps and just sends. With the 109 dimension underfoot and the 183 length I feel this ski is super reliable skiing through deep powder and carving through crud. What I really like about this ski is the camber underfoot and how much stiffer it is than other big mountain Black Crows skis. Even on the days that aren't so deep (I mean everyday isn't a powder day right?) the Corvus is still really fun in soft snow or a few inches, I feel it can make tight turns, carves, and really pop. For how big this ski is and the stiffness its rather light. Aside from a big beautiful ski, the Corvus really performs at a high level and can rival any mid-fat to fat powder ski.

Was looking to add onto my sock collection and normally go with Darn Tough all the way but wanted to try Backountry brand socks. These socks are super comfortable/soft with a fair amount of cushion underfoot and around the toes. I would like to see these socks in a crew length as well for tall boots. These come in anatomical sizing with a left and right sock.

I have one of these without the new Magslider lid and just got this one as a gift for a friend who recently converted to being a coffee drinker. He was much happier than I expected when he got it and has already put it to good use. The new magslider lid is nice for avoiding any type of coffee spill where the original lid has a small opening that has potential to splash up. If you take this camping I would highly recommend getting the Kuju Coffee Pocket Pour Over. It is super easy to use and fits well over this mug.

I absolutely fell in love with my new boots when I got them. I used them first to do two weeks of hard labor with a mix of snow/mud and then spent a week hunting elk in Colorado also with snow/mud/brush. Both of these involved a good amount of activity in cold weather so non-insulated was a great choice. The grip and support of these boots really impressed me. My favorite feature on this boot is the deep hook that really hugs your ankle. I personally have longer feet and skinny ankles so the extra support is sometimes hard to find. Although I am normally a size 12 shoe, I went with an 11.5 which worked out perfectly after packing them out. Another added bonus is the reinforced toe box, a great option when you want stronger toes without steel toe. I would keep this boot solely for colder weather and trekking through snow. For the rest of the winter I will use them for an everyday boot for getting around the ski resort. If you plan on using these boots everyday or nearly everyday I would highly suggest getting some cheap boot dryers to air them out since it can be hard for moisture/smell to escape a big boot like this.

You might be asking yourself, "Did I read that right?". Yes, you did! A quiver of socks! This is an outstanding sock you can wear in cooler to cold temperatures anywhere from one to three days a week without too much funk building up. Great cushion but not too thick overall. I keep two of these, two thinner ones, and plenty of ski socks throughout the winter.

Just picked this up a week ago and have fell in love. Right in time for some good November weather in Utah. Great for cool, dry and windless days. Not the best for inside wear because of the lining but I could wear this outside all day if I am not working too hard. If you look up "super-casual" in the dictionary this will be the picture you see.

This item is certainly bulky but that just comes with territory (it is lined). I am approximately 5'11" with a spine length of 18 inches (short torso/long legs). Waist 38". This shirt fit me well.
