Chris Rogers's Bio

I'm always looking for a new adventure. I love all things outdoors, especially things on or near the water! I'm also a big time gear junkie, is it wrong that half the reason I want to plan new adventures is the potential for new gear!?!

I like this beanie for anything active outdoors. It's very thin but quite warm. I was surprised at the stretchiness, I have a big head and this thing fit easily with room to spare. It's got plenty of material to pull down over my ears and get good coverage. It even fits under my ski helmet (Smith Camber) but I've yet to ski in cold enough temps to necessitate that combo.

I found these gloves too thin to be used on their own. As a liner they did add some warmth which was nice. The material/crafting of this glove makes me question how durable it will be and other reviews seem to echo this. I found the sensor tips to be just ok, they work for general phone interaction but aren't quite refined enough to type out a text for instance. All in all I think you can get a better glove for the money.

Great watch for multi sport although there are slimmer more streamlined options now. I've had it about two years and have used it for running and biking. I've taken it through 2 spartan races without issue (I wrap a wristband over the face to prevent scratches). The data recording is great, it integrates well with STRAVA and Garmin Connect. The only downfall is due to its age and that is lack of bluetooth connectivity. I knew this going in and there were no products on the market that had all of the 910xt features and bluetooth when I made my purchase. Moving forward, bluetooth connectivity in my mind would really enhance this product and is what I will look for when it is time for a replacement.

I'm a big fan of organization and this is the perfect set of stuff sacks for me! The compression sack fits my REI (I know I know) Lumen 25 deg synthetic bag easily and compresses it down to about an 8 inch sphere that tucks easily into the bottom of my pack. The remaining sack is great for keeping clothes or food organized, and the mesh sack I actually use when I'm traveling/flying to organize small items like cords and whatnot in my suitcase.

Great kit if you like to be organized.

This neck gaiter is super versatile although it could be a bit longer. This thing worked great as a hat and as a stand alone neck gaiter. It's very warm and soft. My only wish is that it was a touch longer to use as a face mask. When I pulled it up over my nose while skiing, the gaiter didn't quite go down to the base of my neck. I simply zipped my jacket up a bit higher than usual to correct for this, but a little extra length wouldn't hurt!

So I've gone through about 5 lifeproof cases on iphone 5's and 6's. I'm currently about to get my 2nd lifeproof warrantied for my iphone 6. I've found a case lasts about 8 months for my use. I'm hard on phones and general wear and tear eventually will show up on this case in the form of a seal not holding, or buttons wearing out. Having said all that, these cases work wonderfully at protecting the phone until they wear out. Once they wear out, Lifeproof's customer service is fantastic and the warranty process is simple and fast. I know plenty of people who never wear out their cases, I just don't happen to be one of those folks.

Trust the lifeproof case and trust the company backing it!

Great packable insulating piece. I really like that it can pack into it's own pocket as this makes packing it so much easier. Provides good warmth especially when layered under a shell. Fit is a bit roomy, definitely not an athletic fit, but if you're layering it then this shouldn't matter much. All in all a great jacket.

This lantern is just alright to me. For whatever reason the battery life in mine has never been great, which is odd for LED. Beyond that, if I leave batteries in it, they will almost always be drained the next time I go to use the lantern if it has been stored for any length of time. Light output is great for around camp, and I really liked the hook mechanism for hanging it from various objects. All around if my battery issue is unique and not typical I would definitely use this lantern often.

This cleaning kit works very well. I especially like the hose brush, the drying rack and the cleaning tablets. The big brush I haven't found much use for, but I don't tend to let my packs get too funky. The hose brush works for my 3L osprey and camelbak reservoirs. The cleaning tablets work very well and I have zero qualms about the cleanliness of a reservoir after using them. The drying rack also works on both osprey and camelbak reservoirs that I've tried. All in all a great little kit!

I picked these up to replace some old adidas shoes I had which sucked. The privateer's are fantastic and look awesome in red! They are very comfortable, adjustments are easy to make, and they transfer power into the pedals wonderfully!

Nice Bag

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag is pretty good, there's some things I really like and some I don't like so much.

I really like the expandable external pouch, I generally toss my shoes in there on the drive to the trail. The helmet keeper is awesome, and is the best method I've seen for carrying a helmet. The magnetic keeper for the bladder is also my favorite method of retaining a bladder hose. My favorite part is the tool roll in its own pocket in the bottom. It easily stores multi tools, patches, a pump, and whatever else you may need for your ride.

The internal storage compartment isn't the best, mostly because the zipper is on one side and is very stiff which makes it awkward to get into. Having said that, I can easily store a small first aid kit, shock pump and a light layer in there for a ride.

The osprey bladder's treatment does a great job at preventing it from getting funky if you forget to clean it. Most camelbak bladders would be green after a few days. However, I prefer the camelbak bite valve over the osprey.

All things considered, this is a great pack for the trail. If you don't need a ton of storage but want a great way to carry your tools, a few odds and ends plus your water; then this is the pack for you!

I bought this mat pretty early on after starting practicing yoga. Being a 6' tall guy, most mats were quickly found to be too short for me to feel comfortable on. I hated ending up with my head or feet overhanging the edge of a mat. Once I got the long version of this mat, there were no more issues with ending up beyond the mats boundaries. Unfortunately, as a heavy sweater, this mat is a bit lacking in grip when wet. Having only used this and cheap mats I can't really say if there is a mat that can handle wet palms, but I would like to not have to use a towel to prevent slippage. So far the slipping hasn't been bad enough to necessitate a change, and if you don't sweat excessively like me then I would definitely recommend this mat, the cushion is great and the size is just right for someone my height!

I've had this kit for a few years now and I love it. First of all, the tweezers are the best I've found for removing ticks. I'm not sure what it is about them but they get a full tick out every time without effort. Secondly, this kit has plenty of room for additional meds/bandages etc. I typically toss a tube of aleve, chapstick, pepto, and a sheet of benadryl in the bag along with a bunch of extra bandages in sizes I typically end up using. I'm prone to blisters and I've found certain bandaids work best for protecting my feet, they are easily added. Ultimately, I am always confident that if I have this kit with me, I will be able to provide medical help to any injury within my ability to patch up. Everyone should carry a first aid kit, and at this price and comprehensiveness, there is no reason you shouldn't be carrying one. It's light enough to backpack with and comprehensive enough to keep in your car.

So I picked these up on a whim before my ski trip. I've used various other wicking boxer-briefs and have been mostly disappointed. Most others I've tried either don't maintain good sizing, or they have odd seems that chafe. I was actually a bit nervous with these based on certain seem locations, but whatever they did allows the seems to stay soft and chafe free. I have been very impressed with the moisture management of all icebreaker products, these boxer briefs included. I would definitely recommend them! The only thing I would like is about an inch longer on the inseam, but that is definitely not a deal breaker! I will be buying more!
