I liked the thickness of the balaclava, and it keeps your ears, nose and chin warm on those bitter cold days. I wasn't as big a fan of the actual fit for me. I do have a larger head (size Large helmet) but the balaclava didnt feel very snug at the bottom of the forehead section. It felt a little bit loose and would slide up my forehead above my goggles sometimes. And the face part of the balaclava covered mostly well, but left gaps around my cheek/temple area for the cold to sneak through. But again, it might fit better on those with smaller domes.

Great Slim Fit pant for guys with thicker legs. They have a nice amount of stretch so climbing in them is no problem, and the cut is tapered, but plenty roomy and comfortable. They don't feel tight at any point in the leg. And they look nice enough to dress up, and casual enough to dress down. They've quickly become my favorite pair of pants.

Perfect for your loved one who's outdoorsy but loves jewelry/ bracelets! Lots of cool color options, fits any wrist size, and looks cool. They hold up forever as well.

Picked this up for my girlfriend, and it kept her warm in below freezing conditions. It's super versatile, can be used as a mid-layer for skiing, or just as a flattering jacket to wear around town.

These skis know what they like to do, and only want to do that. I'd say they aren't a "driver" ski in the sense that they don't hold the strongest edge on carves, and things start to feel a bit nervous at speed. But that isn't what they're meant for. Once you get these skis on some more playful terrain, they excel. They were a ton of fun on jumps and kickers and were really easy to ride switch on. They're super forgiving and won't bite you if you don't ski perfectly or land jumps just right. I found tree runs to also be a lot of fun in these as well. I'd say they're definitely squirrely, but a ton of fun if used in the right terrain. Not a big mountain crusher, more of the ultimate jibby ski.

I personally believe that Vans are the ultimate shoe for everything. If you had to buy 1 shoe to do literally everything in, I think you'd be hard pressed to do better than Vans. Going for a casual look? Vans look great. Have to wear a Tuxedo? Black Vans look surprisingly good. Going on a hike? I've done dozens of hikes in Vans. Someone challenges you to a foot race? Lace those babies up tight, you'll be fine. Need a good shoe for squat day at the gym? Vans are the answer. I could give a million more examples. But point is, if you dont own a pair of Vans, I don't know what you're doing with your life.

Smith is known for making great goggles and these continue that tradition. The lens technology is as good as any I've used, both for low light conditions, and for the brighter days. The field of view is huge and the peripheral vision was incredible. Styling is always subjective but I love how these look. My one and only complaint is that it isn't the easiest to replace the lenses, but outside of that these are some of the best goggles I've used.

These bibs are really impressive. Tons of storage options with taped zippers. They have a great, relaxed fit and are reinforced in all the right areas. They feel burly without being heavy. My one really small complaint is the shoulder straps arent the easiest to adjust. I actually prefer the NF Freedom bibs straps as they have a more classic slide strap instead of velcro. But other than that, these are just about perfect. They look great, feel durable, and have all the features you'd want in a shell bib.

This bag does most things well, but there are a few things I would add if I could. I like how durable the fabric feels, and the construction overall feels really quality. It looks classy, clean, and well-built. They didn't skimp on pockets or storage options. There are plenty of places to keep all of your accessories like lens caps, memory cards, filters, etc. I use the Sony mirrorless system, and I was able to easily fit the camera body, 2 lenses, extra batteries, microfiber cloths, and a few other things, and everything was easy to organize and easy to access. I wouldn't mind a larger pocket in the bag outside of the main compartment though. I also think a long shoulder strap would be really useful. My natural instinct was to try to sling it over my shoulder while shooting, but the straps aren't quite long enough for that. When used as a backpack it also can feel a bit awkward. Overall I think it's a nice bag to have for urban photo shoots, and it's not immediately recognizable as a camera bag which is nice, but there are a few ergonomic features that I think if added would make this a 5 star bag.

I loved this goggle. I have a wider face, and these fit perfectly. I prefer a goggle with a larger field of view, and I felt like I could see everything out of these. The peripheral vision was second to none. Was also super impressed with the low light lens. Used this goggle on a really stormy "white-out" day recently, and I was surprised with just how much I was able to see. Also fit perfectly with my Smith Holt helmet with no gaps. Definitely recommend this goggle.

The Basics Done Right

Base layers are a simple garment, but maybe one of the most important when going into the mountains in the Winter. And these 3/4 zip pants do the simple things right. For starters they are very comfortable. The waistband is softer than other base layers I've used which kept it from feeling like it was cutting into my hip. The length was perfect for me, stopping right before my ski boots, and with my ski socks on my whole leg was covered and warm. I like that the zipper goes all the way up each side, and is smooth and doesn't catch when zipped up or down. And I really fell in love with these when I started getting warm after skiing a few laps, and I could just reach down while on the lift and unzip each leg to cool down. If you need a versatile base layer to regulate temperature, it'll be hard to find a better option than these.

This jacket has pretty much everything I want in a ski jacket, and some. There are enough pockets for you to carry your phone, ski straps, a beacon, a radio, a ham and cheese sandwich with chips, a spare change of clothes, and the kitchen sink. I don't recommend carrying all of those things, but this jacket could do it. The fabric feels like you couldn't rip it if you tried. Just feels absolutely bullet proof. The length of the jacket is longer than pretty much any ski jacket I've seen, but I loved it. There was no way my butt was getting cold in this jacket. The pit zips were huge and easy to access which is crucial if you run warm like I do. But maybe best of all, it's one of the best looking jackets I've ever worn. As they say, look good, ski good. Put this jacket on and you'll immediately feel like you can ski like Candide Thovex.

A climbing helmet is supposed to protect your dome, but it helps if it does more than that. I have a large head and this helmet has plenty of room and is very comfortable. Moreover it is super light, and easy to forget you're even wearing it. And if you're a head sweat-er like me, this helmet has plenty of ventilation to keep you cool.

The logo on the hat is cool, but it kinda dominates the look. Would be better if it was a little smaller. But for someone with a bigger head like me, this hat has enough room and has a nice trucker hat look.

This jacket is surprisingly warm. It doesn't look nearly as warm as it really is when you put it on. Perfect for those shoulder season days in the Fall and Spring where you need some warmth but need to still be able to move around. Would work just as well around an early morning campfire as it would running errands around town. My only complaint is that the fit is a tad on the boxy side.

As everyone has said, this is a super light chair that packs down super small, and is great to sit in. After a long day of hiking or adventuring, it's super nice to get back to the car, whip out your camp chair, and enjoy not having to sit in the dirt. Makes for a great present as well!

This pant isnt stuffed full of every bell and whistle, instead it seems to just do the basics right. The outer thigh vents noticeably dumped heat when I zipped them down, but they didnt flop open in the breeze making it look like I had a gaping hole in my pant. The waist has a pull-tab type feature that makes for a surprisingly customizable fit, and the thigh pocket was also surprisingly roomy and easy to access. My favorite part though was probably how it fit. It just looks like a nice, relaxed fit. Looks like a pant that you'd feel as comfortable wearing at age 16 as you would at age 50.

I knew this shirt was good when I went backpacking with a friend in it. I wore this shirt, and my friend wore a normal cotton shirt. Though both of us had plenty of water, he was getting beaten down by the sun and had to go sit in the shade while showing early signs of heat stroke, while I felt fresh as a spring chicken. Every tiny breeze goes through this shirt and cools you down, and it blocks the rays of the sun like the walls of a cave. He immediately requested to know which shirt I was wearing and went and bought one himself. 10/10 would buy again.

You generally know what you're getting in a backpacker meal. Lightweight, packs down small, just add water, etc. I really liked the taste in this one, though I could see it being iffy for some. But I liked it and would for sure eat it again.
