Perfect Glamping Stove!
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love how simple and easy to use this stove is! It's so easy to turn on, with a really simple igniter. And it's big enough to fit my cast iron - which i can't cook without when I am glamping! The pan that it comes with is also a really nice, however I used it as a lid with my cast iron. :) I would definitely recommend this stove if you are car camping!

This is a great camping blanket! Lightweight and a good back up just in case your sleeping bag is not warm enough. If you do want to use it for some extra warmth, I would suggest putting it under your sleeping bag for some extra insulation - if you throw it on top it just slides off. I didn't end up needing it for extra warmth, but my dog sure appreciated it! It's definitely a must have for an extra emergency blanket! Just don't put it too close to the campfire - I had to tape up some holes that some embers put in it. :)

I took this sleeping bag to my backpacking/camping trip to Escalante. The low's got down only to the low 40's, and this sleeping bag kept me so insanely warm...almost too warm. I usually run hot when I sleep, so I slept with this sleeping bag unzipped with no tent and was so so warm! The two sided zippers on this bag are a really nice feature if you don't like the mummy style and want to breathe a little bit. It's also a very lightweight compressible bag, perfect for backpacking! Another small cool feature is the zipper- it glows in the dark so you can find it easily! This is definitely a good winter bag, I can see it keeping you comfortable down into the 20's, as long as you have a good insulated pad and sleep in thin base layers. I would definitely recommend!

Thank you Leki!! - Love, my knees
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am writing this letter to speak for knees in pain everywhere. In the earlier years, I remember being able to function so easily and felt great, hiking and backpacking around with no problem. But lately, I have not been working like I used to. For years now, I have been trying to let Cayla know that going down steep hills is virtually getting impossible for me. I scream in pain when she loads herself up with a massive heavy backpack and continues to work me for days. She has relentlessly ignored my cries, saying that trekking poles are only for the elderly. It turns out, I am not alone. I have noticed knees everywhere are just getting tired and overworked, we just can't keep up these days and we certainly can't do all these strenuous activities alone. And finally, Leki has heard our cries. Lo and behold, the trekking pole. This brilliant invention has assisted me in those strenuous activities that I have always had to manage alone - taking the bulk of the weight off me and dissipating it elsewhere. I no longer cry in protest as Cayla hikes down hills, or backpacks in the mountains. These certain poles are perfect for the activities we do, and especially for the trekking pole newbies. While being light and comfortable, they are super easy to break down and pop into place with that speed lock mechanism. Thank you Leki for hearing my pleas, I will be forever grateful.

Sincerely,

Cayla's Knees

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my first stuff size backpacking pillow I have ever purchased, and it did not disappoint! At first I couldn't find it in my package - it stuffs down so small! The material is so soft too! I am in love, and I can't wait to take it out backpacking. No more sleeping on jackets and sweaters! I would highly recommend this for a backpacking pillow.

Yep. New favorite underwear! These are perfect for backpacking, hiking, or just any work outs in general. The material is super soft and comfortable, and super quick drying. And the style is so cute! A major bonus is no underwear lines! I pretty much only want to wear these. I will most likely get all of the colors. They fit perfectly and are true to size.

Perfect for Yoga, hiking, climbing, or working out. Not too tight like a lot of sports bras- which makes it super comfortable. The fit is a little big for me, but if you have a bigger cup size this would be perfect for you.

These are just essential for all my shoes. I have always had back pain and insoles help so much with that. I also have really high arches and these are perfect. I recommend them for anyone with feet or back pain! I am a size 8, and purchased the 6.5-8 and they fit my shoes great after I used some scissors and trimmed them. Highly recommended!

I have always loved Smartwool baselayers and socks, but was a little skeptical of wool underwear. I'm so glad I decided to bite the bullet and buy these. They are my favorite! I wore them in an Alaskan winter, but also work out in them as well. The merino wool material is so soft and moisture wicking, perfect for skiing or wearing on those long backpacking trips. If you are skeptical like I was about having wool underwear and think they would just be warm and itchy, fear not! You won't regret them! They fit perfectly as well and are true to size.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got these for a friend after convincing her that she would love them. I have the lone peaks, and let her wear them on one climb we did together when her hiking boots were just killing her and giving her blisters. After wearing mine, she was convinced! I bought these for her birthday, here is her response:

“These are the most comfortable all around shoes I have! I use them for hiking, biking, going to the gym, and running errands. Even hiking steep trails haven’t given me a blister yet. I got a size 8 which fit perfectly, I usually get an 8 or 8 1/2 so they run a little larger.”

I would convince anyone who is looking for a comfortable hiking shoe to buy Altra trail running shoes. Their zero drop design and wide toe box literally makes it the comfiest shoe ever! You don’t have to trail run to love this shoe. As my friend said, you can pretty much wear them for anything!

I usually wear a medium in jackets and sweaters mainly because I’m 5’9” with a long torso and arms. So I got a medium in this, but was not expecting it to be so long! I had to return it because it ran very long and large, but will definitely be getting a small instead. Other than me just getting the wrong size, this seems like an awesome technical fleece. I got it for backcountry skiing and hiking. I can see how it will be perfect for any outdoor activity because it will keep you warm but allow you to sweat. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a more technical mid-layer. Just remember to size down!

These are perfect glove liners inside my mittens. I also wear them walking my dog or backcountry skiing. The touch screen totally works with these as well. I would recommend them if your looking for something to wear running, cross country skiing, or just need a little bit of warmth without sacrificing dexterity too much.

You will never have to take off your ski boots to de-layer ever again! I have always had the issue of what to wear when I'm skiing in the Backcountry, especially with bottoms. I get so hot skinning up, and then cold skiing down. I usually just sweat through my baselayers and am super miserable on the hikes up because I am too lazy to take off my ski boots and de-layer/ add on more layers. With these I never have to ever again! I wore them touring last night and the wool kept me so warm while breathing so well. I didn't need to take them off because they breathed so well, but it's nice to have that option. I am definitely going to wear these skiing at resorts as well because this is just a perfect baselayer. I showed these off to my friends I was skiing with and just blew their minds. Such a good idea for a baselayer!
For sizing, I would say it fits regular to large. I usually am a medium in leggings just because of my height and the fact I like my workout gear to fit a little more loose. These are a little looser, generous where they need to be without sacrificing overall fit. I could have gone with a small, but am happy I kept the medium. So stoked to find my new favorite baselayer, I would recommend them to anyone who skis!

I have mixed feelings about these, they are super comfortable and great for working out in. But the fit is a little weird, as in humongous on the backside. It often sticks out of my pants like crazy, and gives me really noticeable underwear lines. I would recommend putting them on a delicate wash and not in the dryer, I already ripped the mesh sides. If you find a cut that works for you then these are really great!

Heavy Duty Leash

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love how simple this leash is. I was just looking for a tough, simple rope that still looked cute and this is perfect! Super simple if your not looking for fancy gadgets or extra loops. I agree that the clasp is a little heavy, I wouldn't recommend this leash for small dogs for that reason.

Listen to the reviews and make sure you SIZE DOWN! I am usually a medium in pants but had to return these because It looked like one of those Subway commercials on me. I would say size down a couple sizes, an XS might have worked better for me. I was looking for some material that was a little more lightweight so i returned them. But they seem like very durable heavy duty pants perfect for climbing.
