Familiarity: I've used it several times

This knife is pretty standard when it comes to pocket knives. I love the wooden handle and the simple design of the knife. My only major concern is that there doesn’t appear to be any “actual” method for locking the blade in place when open. There is a cuff around the base of the blade that can be rotated in order to lock the knife but I’m not sure if this is an actual feature or a small defect that was a big plus for me. Over all, it’s a nice knife with a good sized blade and a nice adventure-y design.

This is pretty standard as far as accessory cord goes. I am currently using it with a double fisherman’s knot for training to set up a top rope anchor as well as cleaning a sport climb. I got it on sale and feel that the price was great for a piece of equipment that could be used to train others and keep them safe. Knots seem to hold up well and the cord is very easy to work with. I imagine given the length of the cord it could be used for any number of anchor designs. If color concerns you, mine came in green rather than the shown color.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This harness has absolutely blown any other harness I’ve used out of the water. Everyone knows the feeling of finding the perfect fit in a harness and this one has done it for me. It’s great for anyone who may have larger legs and a smaller waist. Aside from the fit, I feel absolutely secure and comfortable when I’m wearing this. I’ve taken a few falls and feel like it will hold up for many more. The indication feature is a great addition so you can visibly see when it’s time to replace the harness. I feel that this harness stands up against many of the more expensive ones out there.

First of all, I love all Metolius products that I have purchased so I may be a little biased. This wiregate carabiner has been an excellent addition to my rack. It’s more than strong enough to handle any load I throw at it. The biner is super lightweight and easily controlled. Nothing is worse than getting into a tight spot and then having difficulty getting your gate open! You will never have that problem with this biner. I love the limited edition version of this biner! I show off the goat on every piece of gear I can. Nothing but love for this bomber gear.

My only complaint would be the small range of colors available. Overall, I would recommend this carabiner to anyone who needs another piece of strong and lightweight gear on their rack.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Originally I was looking for any sort of lantern that I could use to illuminate the inside of a tent during the night. When I stumbled across this lantern I realized there were quite a few factors that pushed this lantern above the others. My favorite feature of this lantern is the fact that it is inflatable and collapsible. The lantern weighs next to nothing and can be compressed into a very small volume to fit in even the most loaded pack. The lantern is also solar powered. A charge light indicates that the lantern is charging when in the sun so you don’t have to question whether or not it’s getting enough sun. The color changing is a huge plus too!

This helmet has been used on 10 or so climbing trips. So far it has performed outstandingly as you would expect any Mammut product to do. I have been nothing but pleased with the protection provided by this helmet. While performance is the main factor in purchasing any form of protective gear, the price of the product and the way it looks are also key factors to many buyers. At the end of the day, all of our biggest goals are to stay safe, look badass, save some cash, and reach the top of that route! All of these things are easily accomplished with the Mmmut El Cap helmet!
